I find it funny that "I want my country to be the best it can be" is a bad thing now.

or "I want my country to look after it's own interests first" is a bad thing.

I look at Hitler's actions first, his words second. Nothing about his actions strikes me as more nationalistic than any other leader ever.

I want to see every country be the best it can be, i'm still always going to think mine is the one worth rooting for just like people do with their football teams.

I think nationalism is connected to race, it can exist outside of it but for the most part they exist together

For most nations yes they're hard to be decoupled with race, tho for 'Americans', that's not easily distinguishable anymore. It's become a lot more diverse due to all the immigrants of the world and it is more united by culture than race.

a country like America is NOT based on race, so the nationalism itself isn't the problem.

identity is only different if you think it is, it's a subjective state, not based on reality

insted of being about color it could just as easy be about location, and we have that to some point.

Americas only trended that way in the last 40 years, its been mostly white for all its history
