2019-12-06 06:59:01 UTC

okay you didn't say self driving

2019-12-06 06:59:10 UTC

I did! thats what ive been talking about!

2019-12-06 06:59:24 UTC

Self driving cant work in cities

2019-12-06 06:59:26 UTC

oh, somehow I read it as electric

2019-12-06 06:59:31 UTC

odd

2019-12-06 06:59:32 UTC

Now highways and freeways

2019-12-06 06:59:35 UTC

I need to eat

2019-12-06 06:59:44 UTC

@Tiberius thats untrue, but whatever,

2019-12-06 06:59:48 UTC

what do you mean? self-driving cars do drive in cities and have a lot of mileage there

2019-12-06 06:59:56 UTC

alphabet runs their cars all over

2019-12-06 07:00:00 UTC

uhm, san fran?

2019-12-06 07:00:01 UTC

Its not though

2019-12-06 07:00:12 UTC

one of the cali big cities

2019-12-06 07:00:46 UTC

can you elaborate on that guderian?

2019-12-06 07:00:48 UTC

@Tiberius even then, its not about minimum wage jobs, its about low skill jobs,

2019-12-06 07:01:06 UTC

there are two convos happening at once

2019-12-06 07:01:19 UTC

that is where confusion is coming from

2019-12-06 07:01:54 UTC

you're just a hamster calman

2019-12-06 07:01:57 UTC

Minimum wage jobs are low skill jobs

2019-12-06 07:02:21 UTC

Typically speaking unless its an internship

2019-12-06 07:03:02 UTC

low skill work that can be automated away can pay above a minimum wage

2019-12-06 07:03:15 UTC

@TeeTotaler I might be, lol

2019-12-06 07:04:25 UTC

what do you think about the people who want to develop AI and then make the human race go extinct and let AI take over

2019-12-06 07:04:37 UTC

Most people who work minimum wage are between 16-19

2019-12-06 07:05:07 UTC

Constituting nearly half of all minimum wage workers

2019-12-06 07:06:17 UTC

The reason I brought up minimum wage was your example of mcdonalds as a company that stands to lose more thsn it would gain from automation

2019-12-06 07:07:02 UTC

Considering the overwhelming majority of McDonalds store workers make minimum wage and most of them are young or retired and thus that is not their sole livelyhood

2019-12-06 07:07:04 UTC

@TeeTotaler I think it is sick tbh

2019-12-06 07:07:11 UTC

I am in fact correct

2019-12-06 07:07:40 UTC

Unless you think you have a better citation than the bureau of labor statistics

2019-12-06 07:08:19 UTC

Im too tired to read the statistical tables, I will give u the argument, we should have UBI and I will succ andrew yang

2019-12-06 07:09:31 UTC

@TeeTotaler AI could be used to like, upgrade humanity

2019-12-06 07:09:47 UTC

Do come back when you actually have a well supported argument

2019-12-06 07:10:41 UTC

It is all quite ludicrous. Computers are digital. The real world is analog. Yang is prophesizing economic catastrophe while we have the lowest unemployment in decades. TBQH I agree with claman in this. The successful technologies have been extensions of humans.

2019-12-06 07:11:35 UTC

@Tiberius I'll sleep on it, and come back to it later, I still feel like I have a point about automation, but I don't have like, the citations

2019-12-06 07:11:44 UTC

what would justify this "upgrade"? surely if it is an upgrade what are we upgrading? For this question to be answered we need a definitive stance on what the human species goal in the universe is

2019-12-06 07:11:46 UTC

The real world is converting to digital
