Automated intelligence is somethin you made up just now

2019-12-06 07:22:34 UTC

All robots are AI with varying degrees of intelligence and processing power

2019-12-06 07:22:59 UTC

automation in a factory has a program that it runs on repeat

2019-12-06 07:23:02 UTC

to do a single task

2019-12-06 07:23:28 UTC

And an AI is a collection of programs performing various tasks

2019-12-06 07:23:46 UTC

that is not what I or anyone meant when they referred to AI

2019-12-06 07:23:49 UTC

Or a single program capable of runing multiple processes

2019-12-06 07:24:15 UTC

Thats because you dont study machine intelligence and dont know what AI is

2019-12-06 07:25:47 UTC

no, not all robots are AI. AI implies it has the capability to learn

2019-12-06 07:25:56 UTC

robots can be fully preprogrammed and incapable of learning

2019-12-06 07:25:59 UTC

they're distinct

2019-12-06 07:26:27 UTC

They are merely not a powerful enough AI to learn

2019-12-06 07:26:46 UTC

Guderian, I am trying to stop myself from snarkily insulting you, we are talking in laymens terms rn

2019-12-06 07:27:30 UTC

u are big braining us rn

2019-12-06 07:27:33 UTC

And programed machine has an "intelligence" how smart, complex, or capable of learning that intelligence is depends on the programming

2019-12-06 07:28:00 UTC

that's like saying a pulley system can learn algebra

2019-12-06 07:28:03 UTC

it isn't capable

2019-12-06 07:28:26 UTC

A pully system cant do anything on its own

2019-12-06 07:28:41 UTC

and neither can computers

2019-12-06 07:28:55 UTC

An automated pulley system can

2019-12-06 07:29:16 UTC

To the extent is programmed complexity allows it

2019-12-06 07:29:26 UTC

Depends on the computer

2019-12-06 07:29:47 UTC

Your engine computer does everything on its own

2019-12-06 07:29:52 UTC

an automated pulley system will make nukes and kill us all

2019-12-06 07:30:04 UTC

Based on its preprogrammed capabilities

2019-12-06 07:30:17 UTC

you're tearing this family apart guderian!

2019-12-06 07:30:28 UTC

If its programmed intelligence is complex enough

2019-12-06 07:30:30 UTC

Okay, real quick, because it feels like this is still the human labor debate, if we could automate away every single job in existence, should we @Tiberius ?

2019-12-06 07:31:01 UTC

Not all jobs can be automated but what we can we should be allowed to

2019-12-06 07:32:43 UTC

I mean, AI can write music and paint artwork, make memes, so, if a robot could do anything a human can do, but better, should we get rid of people in all sectors of the economy?

2019-12-06 07:33:52 UTC

We should be free to do so

2019-12-06 07:34:24 UTC

And if we do then we will have to develop a new systen of economics from scratch

2019-12-06 07:34:26 UTC

shouldn't that be a group consensus thing?

2019-12-06 07:34:34 UTC

Fuck no

2019-12-06 07:34:56 UTC

Groups don't get to dictate the actions of individuals in regards to their own businesses

2019-12-06 07:35:09 UTC

*looks at how every country handles nukes*

2019-12-06 07:35:12 UTC

*sweats*

2019-12-06 07:35:28 UTC

fine, i rule all the nukes now and I say we nuke Sweden

2019-12-06 07:35:50 UTC

There I clarified

2019-12-06 07:36:06 UTC

because here is the fundamental problem: the automating away of phone operators in place of an automated system is fine because people who are fundamentally low skilled workers can move into other sectors that also require low skill labor

2019-12-06 07:36:53 UTC

but the legal system does dictate the actions of businesses
