I'm praying the house actually impeaches. The Senate trial will be legendary.

2019-12-07 06:49:10 UTC

True dat

2019-12-07 06:49:36 UTC

It's actually disappointing. Politics used to be exciting, but now to Nov 2020 is pretty played out.

2019-12-07 06:50:14 UTC

The *fallout* following his re-election is the impending Democratic Armageddon to look forward to

2019-12-07 06:50:49 UTC

In the end, all this Election is, really, is "Who can Win the Rust Belt?"

2019-12-07 06:51:06 UTC

All the candidates gotta do is hold onto their 2016 Seats and win the Rust Belt

2019-12-07 06:52:16 UTC

Dems wont win the rust belt

2019-12-07 06:52:22 UTC

I am extremely confident

2019-12-07 06:52:30 UTC

That's where Bernie comes in because that guy is EXTREMELY Popular in the Rust Belt, lol (Ik first hand too cuz I live there). That area was crippled by Bill Clinton with NAFTA and Trump Campaigned on getting people their Jobs back (while Hillary was Bill's Husband).

2019-12-07 06:53:02 UTC

Now Trump has done none of that

2019-12-07 06:53:20 UTC

But people here hate the Dems more bc at least Trump has the rhetoric of a Populist

2019-12-07 06:53:47 UTC

But that's where Bernie comes in because to most ppl here, he's a genuine populist

2019-12-07 06:54:14 UTC

People in the Rust Belt have more confidence in someone like Bernie than Trump

2019-12-07 06:54:24 UTC

Hence why I say that it really is Bernie or Bust

2019-12-07 06:54:58 UTC

Liz Warren is only slightly more popular than Trump here (she might barely beat him)

2019-12-07 06:55:08 UTC

But Bernie would wipe the floor with the Rust Belt

2019-12-07 06:56:30 UTC

Everyone else, including the Booty Judge, is actually unpopular here since they just seem Establishment and representing the "Status Quo"

2019-12-07 06:57:38 UTC

ye

2019-12-07 06:58:19 UTC

tho its still important to go out and vote for trump

2019-12-07 06:58:22 UTC

When you really get down to it, the 2020 Election will be a referendum on "Populism Vs. Establishment"

2019-12-07 06:58:33 UTC

we cant get complacent thinking we got this handled you know

2019-12-07 06:59:23 UTC

One thing that I've noticed is that, the major Reforms Bernie, in particular, pushes are actually the Economic Policy of the Golden Age of Capitalism (1950s). An Economy Heavily Regulated and Taxed amongst Large Corporations and the Rich, but extremely unregulated and very low taxes on your average person

2019-12-07 07:00:14 UTC

They have the right idea by wanting to fix the taxation, but the wrong implementation

2019-12-07 07:00:44 UTC

Correcting the ability to funnel money offshore and back into corporations would stop the loopholes that have been in use the past 20 years

2019-12-07 07:01:09 UTC

Like IIRC, the Lower Class paid 5% in Taxes, the Middle Class paid 10%, the Upper Middle Class and Lower High Class paid 15%, and the Upper High Class paid 70% of the Taxes

2019-12-07 07:01:12 UTC

Simply creating an arbitrary wealth tax on *capital gains* will do nothing more than discourage business owners from remaining in America

2019-12-07 07:01:42 UTC

But UnScottable's right. Doesn't matter is the vote's obvious, getting out there and casting a ballot fucking matters.

2019-12-07 07:02:34 UTC

Especially for midterm elections. Larger Republican turnout would have resulted in them keeping the house - 2 years of legislation passed instead of 2 years of Russiagate and Impeachment nonsense

2019-12-07 07:02:59 UTC

I mean, deregulating average people would be pretty ideal

2019-12-07 07:03:25 UTC

The Rich, atm, pay less in taxes than your average Joe, lol

2019-12-07 07:03:33 UTC

Mainly bc of Capital Gains

2019-12-07 07:05:59 UTC

Bernie used to call himself a "Civil Libertarian" for a long time, so it makes sense for why he'd want to adopt such a policy

2019-12-07 07:06:27 UTC

Make life more free for your average person, trickling up the economy, at the same time

2019-12-07 07:09:12 UTC

Here's the root of the problem: Partisanship.

2019-12-07 07:09:21 UTC

Yep

2019-12-07 07:09:25 UTC

If the Democrat's aren't promoting popular candidates, they can't win the House / Senate

2019-12-07 07:09:33 UTC

All proposals would be implemented as Executive Orders

2019-12-07 07:09:41 UTC

And fought vehemently in Congress

2019-12-07 07:09:47 UTC

Ye

2019-12-07 07:10:19 UTC

Rather than casting Hail Mary's like Impeachment and radical proposals, Dem's need to unify as a party to regain any standing in US govt

2019-12-07 07:10:39 UTC

That's not gonna happen until they condemn the radical progressives and being appealing to centrists / moderates
