them blasian prison gangs are a real problem

2019-12-08 17:46:56 UTC

but for real, thats less political ideology and more primal group instinct

2019-12-08 17:47:02 UTC

you join up or get eaten alive

2019-12-08 17:47:34 UTC

An estimated 5.5 million felons can't vote. With an estimated US population of 320 million, this problem affects less than 2 percent.

2019-12-08 17:47:41 UTC

probably as likely to find a socialist commune in prison

2019-12-08 17:47:44 UTC

And that's assuming every one of them would vote.

2019-12-08 17:48:01 UTC

@Mersenne elections are decided on less

2019-12-08 17:48:16 UTC

well, no, *candidacy* is decided on less

2019-12-08 17:48:37 UTC

True. Which is why I still support released felons having the right to vote.

2019-12-08 17:51:07 UTC

Yeah, let them vote. It's only fair that they can vote for politicians who will lower the penalties for their favorite crimes.

2019-12-08 17:51:21 UTC

Whatever it takes to produce more right wingers

2019-12-08 17:52:00 UTC

the king of strawmans! How you doing super?

2019-12-08 17:52:04 UTC

Make felonaphobia a crime!

2019-12-08 17:52:29 UTC

Awesome, how about you?

2019-12-08 17:52:52 UTC

The real challenge is ballot harvesting. No one should be authorized to collect absentee ballots.

2019-12-08 17:53:08 UTC

pretty good, my washer broke today though

2019-12-08 17:53:33 UTC

Let felons gather the ballots

2019-12-08 17:53:42 UTC

Creates an environment rich for abuse, with collectors historically discarding unwanted ballots while submitting ballots for their candidate.

2019-12-08 17:54:07 UTC

And, arm the felons while we're at it

2019-12-08 17:54:19 UTC

why don’t we all just have voter ID and then vote from our phones with our voter ID

2019-12-08 17:54:56 UTC

Voter ID laws should be a no-brainer. Democrats defend 'the rural vote' - despite that everyone has an ID in today's age.

2019-12-08 17:55:13 UTC

That made sense in the 1920s. It's a laughable defense in 2020.

2019-12-08 17:55:44 UTC

You could literally vote from your phone with 2-factor authentication and a photo copy of a state-issued ID

2019-12-08 17:55:52 UTC

That would actually be fucking easier than dealing with ballot boxes.

2019-12-08 17:57:04 UTC

yah, voteing ID really should be one of the strongest IDs out there, not the weakest.

2019-12-08 17:57:31 UTC

though, i'm going to be against E-voteing of any kind, to easy to hack into stuff with out leaveing any kind of trail.

2019-12-08 17:58:01 UTC

Democrats require ID to attend their events against voter ID 🤡

2019-12-08 17:58:40 UTC

I just wish there was a way to serialise ballots with out breaking anonymity.

2019-12-08 17:59:21 UTC

E-Voting presents challenges, but provides database validation. Instantly check who you voted for, how many voter's are registered, and how many votes were placed.

2019-12-08 17:59:54 UTC

It's a system that provides integrity - something our current system lacks entirely.

2019-12-08 17:59:59 UTC

I'd like to be able to check my vote with my phone so I can verify it was recorded correctly.

here, this guy does a much better job of explaining it then i will.

2019-12-08 18:01:43 UTC

Electronic voting is Cringe; all hail the Paper Ballot

2019-12-08 18:02:11 UTC

Paper ballot is rife with vulnerabilities. E-Voting is no different, but provides the means to *validate* votes and voters.

2019-12-08 18:02:39 UTC

I am ok with ballot's made to be counted by machines, but they should also be countable by people.

2019-12-08 18:02:59 UTC

maybe every voting house could have an infra red flare indicating one candidate or the other

2019-12-08 18:03:16 UTC

use the machine to quick count and sort then dobble and tripple check with people.

2019-12-08 18:03:44 UTC

i've got an idea, let's not let dead people vote

2019-12-08 18:04:29 UTC

Databases are the future regardless. It just makes sense to move to an E-vote model. Provide voters with PIV cards for 2-Factor auth. Let them get a printed copy of their ballot at the polls.

2019-12-08 18:04:44 UTC

All of this saves millions, provides voter integrity, and allows you to instantly validate your district's votes.

2019-12-08 18:04:56 UTC

until one person hacks into that database and does what ever they want to it.
