I am not willing to give the state the power to kill innocent civilians even by accident. Combined with it being cheaper to just keep them in a room I don't see a reason to have a common death penalty

Look at the UK man, there's a shit ton of grooming gangs out there that have raped plenty of women and all because they don't want to be called racist they don't jail them properly and even let them out. They can vote, they get set free, and they keep raping and and murdering. What's the mortality rate there? Innocents die all the time and it's just how the world is and you can't stop it.
