This is an easy "problem" to solve
The issue w/spike in prices are that demand are outstripping supply. Their "investments" will continue to grow so long as that remains at a constant. If we make it easier for developers to build, remove archaic regs that stop development, we'll get the supply we need. Once supply catches up, the supposed "capital gains" these investors are hoping for won't be there. Removing the perverse incentive of hoarding up supply and creating artificial shortage
And if they want to continue throwing their money at it, sure we'll take every penny of it. Creates jobs for us
And that bleeds their own nation dry of investment capital
