Because a basic part of human psychology is that we need to have a hierarchal system and place ourselves, preferably at the top, in that system. So they will lie, cheat, and steal to artificially place themselves above everyone else. Human history always trends towards the slave and master hierarchy.
Its important to never give a single entity too much power or else they will abuse that power to topple the power dynamics of the system in their favor. You want to find the perfect balance between power that the people hold and power that the state/government hold
The funny thing is, they've created their own silver bullet. The 'right' being the conservatives in response to the radical and unrepentant authoritarianism is slowly becoming more liberal and people are coming to understand that labour has died. Labour as we understood it, a party created to represent the interests of the working class, their concerns and to their benefit as it was envisioned at the beginning of the 20th century **is dead**. And in its place is this monster wearing its skin. And so I hope the Conservatives to fully move to being an English Liberal party, away from chasing labour's tail after Blair.
The labour party was just another communist party. Typical rhetoric full of lies, and they offer no solution. I don't get why people fall so easily for some political figure who REEEEEEEEs without offering any solution to their perceived problems. Like Bernie, that clown has never offered any solution to any problem that he rattles off ignorantly about.

If you can't quantity a problem and its important factors, and then cannot offer a viable solution then what these politicians are spewing is nothing short of doom-saying and they should be mocked and promptly ignored

when any multiple powers are fighting for domination is when they're the most free. Because the competing forces have to expend their efforts on fighting the opposition instead of enslaving the slave class
