You get punishment taxes for violating social norms etc

2020-02-04 20:53:06 UTC

As in... You get taxed less if you're doing good

2020-02-04 20:53:15 UTC

Yes that's what I mean

2020-02-04 20:53:39 UTC

So like, dumping shit in the river, bad move cunt, 10% tax

2020-02-04 20:53:43 UTC

yup

2020-02-04 20:53:44 UTC

holy fuck

2020-02-04 20:53:59 UTC

The fact of taxation is that you must tax the productive elements of your economy, rather than the dregs. Business is the productive element of the economy, and therefore the majority of taxation should be levied there, as needs be. Taxing people after already taxing companies, simply shunts the burden of taxation from the wealthy, to the ordinary.

2020-02-04 20:54:17 UTC

Fair

2020-02-04 20:54:20 UTC

interesting

2020-02-04 20:54:24 UTC

uhhh that is far too broadstroke

2020-02-04 20:54:33 UTC

business != wealthy

2020-02-04 20:54:46 UTC

and person != poor

2020-02-04 20:54:47 UTC

I dont think that's what it says

2020-02-04 20:54:52 UTC

its implied

2020-02-04 20:55:09 UTC

It is, but taxes have to be applied broadly

2020-02-04 20:55:14 UTC

I think the general is that normal employees are not uber wealthy

2020-02-04 20:55:15 UTC

However you manage them

2020-02-04 20:55:38 UTC

And that businesses are generally wealth holders/creators

2020-02-04 20:55:42 UTC

The end goal would be to only apply taxation to those businesses which recieve market protections, enforced by the state, and bring the majority of people out of the need for it.

2020-02-04 20:56:03 UTC

So patent holders etc

2020-02-04 20:56:09 UTC

Want the benefit? Pay the cost, etc.

2020-02-04 20:56:31 UTC

you'd just have businesses pull out and place their HQs in the EU

2020-02-04 20:56:44 UTC

@notaglobe Not limited to that, as Government does a lot more.

2020-02-04 20:56:48 UTC

you'd need the threshold to be too high to sustain the outpour from the Exchequer

2020-02-04 20:58:07 UTC

Indeed. That can be solved by not recognising any business HQ's outside of your own country, and writing into law that all business done by a firm within the UK, or other, is in fact UK business. If the sales take place here its UK business. Production the same, etc.

2020-02-04 20:58:08 UTC

Cant we cull the government size

2020-02-04 20:59:23 UTC

It would be a corrolery of this form of taxation, as the funds simply could not be raised from business alone.

2020-02-04 20:59:55 UTC

Personal income tax was only introduced in the west by the world wars. Before then taxes were primarily sales and business taxes.

2020-02-04 21:00:57 UTC

Itd be nice if we had sovereign wealth funds

2020-02-04 21:01:13 UTC

Maybe we could take prince Philip's duchy

2020-02-04 21:01:35 UTC

Given that it seems to be a bit predatory

2020-02-04 21:03:23 UTC

I'd be fine setting up an international Trade annex, specifically with the intention of exploiting the tax loopholes, corruption, poor governance, and shitty business laws of other country, similar to what the City of London, currently already does, but I'd restrict their operations and scope to only being within the city limits, and abroad.

2020-02-04 21:04:44 UTC

What laws are you thinking of rn in terms of the city?

2020-02-04 21:06:16 UTC

So they can't operate in the rest of the UK?

2020-02-04 21:07:47 UTC

While person to person being predatory is bad, on the international stage... its the way of the world. The only way nations improve is through competition, so they'd be best to adopt laws that prevent international exploitation of their business and tax laws.

2020-02-04 21:09:12 UTC

The basic principle would be that if the City wanted special laws that allows them to operate however they see fit, then I'd want their behaviour limited to the rest of the planet...

2020-02-04 21:10:03 UTC

No reason we should destroy the city of london, just protect ourselves from any schenanigans.

2020-02-04 21:19:19 UTC

It's almost like whitehatting

2020-02-04 21:19:42 UTC

We will openly exploit you until you make it better

2020-02-04 21:19:49 UTC

More like black hat,
