Tbf, it's not like they're very good at using that money

2020-02-04 20:50:12 UTC

Because you'd lose the overall tax income?

2020-02-04 20:50:26 UTC

There's an argument that says lowering tax actually increases revenue

2020-02-04 20:50:53 UTC

yeah to an extent

2020-02-04 20:50:57 UTC

Maybe theres an argument to only seek tax receipts on certain transactions + corp tax

2020-02-04 20:51:16 UTC

Like stock trading

2020-02-04 20:51:18 UTC

So VAT?

2020-02-04 20:51:22 UTC

No no

2020-02-04 20:51:31 UTC

On business receipts

2020-02-04 20:51:36 UTC

But this is pie in the sky

2020-02-04 20:51:56 UTC

Maybe just like when money moves or transactions happen in money markets

2020-02-04 20:52:02 UTC

You would have to impliment that strategy slowly.

2020-02-04 20:52:14 UTC

For sure

2020-02-04 20:52:24 UTC

Corporation tax should be based on how much societal good your company does

2020-02-04 20:52:41 UTC

Not sure I can get on board for that

2020-02-04 20:52:46 UTC

Maybe the reverse

2020-02-04 20:52:51 UTC

At least partly, anyway

2020-02-04 20:53:01 UTC

You get punishment taxes for violating social norms etc

2020-02-04 20:53:06 UTC

As in... You get taxed less if you're doing good

2020-02-04 20:53:15 UTC

Yes that's what I mean

2020-02-04 20:53:39 UTC

So like, dumping shit in the river, bad move cunt, 10% tax

2020-02-04 20:53:43 UTC

yup

2020-02-04 20:53:44 UTC

holy fuck

2020-02-04 20:53:59 UTC

The fact of taxation is that you must tax the productive elements of your economy, rather than the dregs. Business is the productive element of the economy, and therefore the majority of taxation should be levied there, as needs be. Taxing people after already taxing companies, simply shunts the burden of taxation from the wealthy, to the ordinary.

2020-02-04 20:54:17 UTC

Fair

2020-02-04 20:54:20 UTC

interesting

2020-02-04 20:54:24 UTC

uhhh that is far too broadstroke

2020-02-04 20:54:33 UTC

business != wealthy

2020-02-04 20:54:46 UTC

and person != poor

2020-02-04 20:54:47 UTC

I dont think that's what it says

2020-02-04 20:54:52 UTC

its implied

2020-02-04 20:55:09 UTC

It is, but taxes have to be applied broadly

2020-02-04 20:55:14 UTC

I think the general is that normal employees are not uber wealthy

2020-02-04 20:55:15 UTC

However you manage them

2020-02-04 20:55:38 UTC

And that businesses are generally wealth holders/creators

2020-02-04 20:55:42 UTC

The end goal would be to only apply taxation to those businesses which recieve market protections, enforced by the state, and bring the majority of people out of the need for it.

2020-02-04 20:56:03 UTC

So patent holders etc

2020-02-04 20:56:09 UTC

Want the benefit? Pay the cost, etc.

2020-02-04 20:56:31 UTC

you'd just have businesses pull out and place their HQs in the EU

2020-02-04 20:56:44 UTC

@notaglobe Not limited to that, as Government does a lot more.
