There are three things, one the video is sped up slightly which if you rewatch you can kind of tell, as in parts of it are sped up (right before they go to hit it with something), the nails are bent over sideways which means they didn't step directly on top of them but put most of the pressure on the side, and it's an otherwise decent shoe that will probably be pretty uncomfortable. I have a pair of steel toed work boots which are supposed to be spike proof and all that, and they're just mildly uncomfortable. An overall decent shoe but they tend to cut in to you at weird angles. Probably the shoes presented are good at what they do, just the effect is exaggerated
One thing I'd say is look at the car driving off, it seems to be moving really weirdly, like the video was sped up, as he goes to hit his shoe with the brick/hammer
