That was quite possibly the weirdest IT thing I've encountered over my ... well, two decades now, of computers

2020-02-27 21:44:01 UTC

bacc to computer talk then

2020-02-27 21:44:05 UTC

aw dood

2020-02-27 21:44:10 UTC

Finally found a photo worthy spot

2020-02-27 21:44:14 UTC

the weirdest thing that happened to me was the first time i built a pc

2020-02-27 21:44:27 UTC

it had this fan that you had to reach back and push on a clip to remove it

2020-02-27 21:44:39 UTC

i had a mobo that plainly refused to play ball with my gpu

2020-02-27 21:44:47 UTC

one in three times comp failed to post

2020-02-27 21:44:50 UTC

i was trying to get it out and my hand slipped and ran along the edge of the plastic fan casing

2020-02-27 21:44:55 UTC

otherwise worked perfectly

2020-02-27 21:44:56 UTC

oof

2020-02-27 21:45:03 UTC

and i was like whatever

2020-02-27 21:45:05 UTC

and kept working

2020-02-27 21:45:05 UTC

A fan bit my finger like that once

2020-02-27 21:45:26 UTC

eventually finished getting the fan out and threw a new one in cuz that one adnt worked, which is why i was changing it

2020-02-27 21:45:34 UTC

nothing semed wrong

2020-02-27 21:45:38 UTC

everyone i asked told me it was my psu

2020-02-27 21:45:40 UTC

i booted the pc up and bam

2020-02-27 21:45:43 UTC

it didnt boot

2020-02-27 21:45:45 UTC

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/678531385123667998/682704949897199623/image0.png

2020-02-27 21:46:04 UTC

apparently i bled all over the mobo, didnt see, and my finger closed up with very very little blood

2020-02-27 21:46:11 UTC

after getting a corsair AX 850 (which i'm still using today) i was overkill% sure it was NOT the psu

2020-02-27 21:46:18 UTC

so i gave a computer water damage with my blood after the computer cut me

2020-02-27 21:47:01 UTC

2020-02-27 21:47:02 UTC

wow

2020-02-27 21:47:09 UTC

Ok that's something.

2020-02-27 21:47:22 UTC

that was the first time i was working with computer hardware

2020-02-27 21:47:34 UTC

it was an old like 1998 pc ofc cuz it was in my classes

2020-02-27 21:47:58 UTC

Thankfully I ever only damaged a PC because I was a retard and touched that poor innocent gpu while it was running and -bzzt- rip in pieces, year-old 550ti

2020-02-27 21:48:25 UTC

I got a 750ti two years later and a gtx 1080 4 after that with the new pc

2020-02-27 21:48:39 UTC

And that's enuff with upgrades until like 2025 <:smugon:512048583806025739>

2020-02-27 21:49:01 UTC

closest to damaging me hardware like that i've did was killing a drive because i used ccleaner on 35pass deletion ALL the time like an absolute autist

2020-02-27 21:49:14 UTC

ive been running a 1050ti the past two years still going strong

2020-02-27 21:49:14 UTC

Oh yea, I've been doing that too

2020-02-27 21:49:19 UTC

ohmygod why

2020-02-27 21:49:32 UTC

what child porn do you have that a cleaning is EVER neccecary

2020-02-27 21:49:37 UTC

all you need is 7 pass max

2020-02-27 21:49:52 UTC

That drive was 15 years old the last time I used it (my first drive, mighty 60 GB) and it was still holding up great.

2020-02-27 21:49:52 UTC

you dont need any passes if youre just deleting files
