Objective axioms my bros

2020-02-18 12:28:24 UTC

The only issue is there is no goood Empiric system to measure morals

2020-02-18 12:28:30 UTC

As a counter example, gravity doesn't require a subjective premise. It's universally true regardless of our perceptions, opinions, etc.

2020-02-18 12:29:05 UTC

Yes but the language we use to describe is still based on axiomatic principles

2020-02-18 12:29:45 UTC

It's true that ppl feel bad when they find out you lied to their detriment for example

2020-02-18 12:29:55 UTC

> This but utilitarianism is Empiricism
To rephrase Empiricism is a subset of Utilitarianism

List of words people use to try and sound more intelligent than they really are:

Paradigm
Axiom
Herculean
Dichotomy
Paradox

Feel free to fill in more 😀

2020-02-18 12:42:26 UTC

I'll add some

2020-02-18 12:42:33 UTC

toxic

2020-02-18 12:42:47 UTC

*Nigger*

2020-02-18 12:42:59 UTC

offensive

2020-02-18 12:43:19 UTC

Toxic is kind of plebean tough... And with that said, I'll add "Plebean" to my list as well. 😁

2020-02-18 12:44:40 UTC

I'll assist you in compiling your list of things you disagree with, @Seven Proxies.

2020-02-18 12:45:28 UTC

Feel free to cherry pick from my library.

2020-02-18 12:46:17 UTC

I'll add "referring to random memories and associations as a "library" to my list as well 😛

2020-02-18 12:46:24 UTC

Self-ownership.

2020-02-18 12:46:29 UTC

Free market.

2020-02-18 12:46:50 UTC

False dilemma, since you already added dichotomy.

2020-02-18 12:47:19 UTC

I disagree with free markets. Not with self-ownership though.

Except if you're a communist. I'm pro slavery as long as communists are the ones getting enslaved.

2020-02-18 12:47:19 UTC

What terms do people use to sound dumber than they really are?

2020-02-18 12:47:26 UTC

May as well add the synonym to the false dichotomy you're referencing.

2020-02-18 12:47:52 UTC

No, you don't.

2020-02-18 12:47:58 UTC

@Selemas Basically, meme-language. Like "galaxy brain", "coomer", "yeet", "derp" etc.

2020-02-18 12:48:19 UTC

Yknow what, that's fair.

2020-02-18 12:48:31 UTC

Free markets exist even if there is regulation involved, it's merely a matter of the extent to which human action is limited within the market.

2020-02-18 12:48:55 UTC

You've said it yourself, you love a "mixed economy."

2020-02-18 12:49:32 UTC

I don't see where you're objecting to all market functions and all human action.

2020-02-18 12:49:43 UTC

That'd obviously be absurd.

2020-02-18 12:51:25 UTC

And here we are, I find myself objecting to the false dichotomy drawn between "free market" and "mixed economy."

2020-02-18 12:51:51 UTC

There's that pesky concept again. 😉

2020-02-18 12:54:27 UTC

I would say there's definitely a difference between free markets and mixed economies.

Free markets are entirely voluntary. Mixed economies are not.
