I'd never thought I'd see the day I'd become a communist

2019-07-19 03:03:36 UTC

@Larbi What brings you to communism?

2019-07-19 03:35:53 UTC

Low IQ and the HRT probably

2019-07-19 03:49:00 UTC

Well it seems a post-scarcity society would logically conclude at communism

2019-07-19 03:49:48 UTC

I was previously a market socialist

2019-07-19 03:50:12 UTC

Automation seems to be an inevitable trend and the decrease of value as a result appears to point towards socialism in the future wherever far or near I cannot claim.

2019-07-19 03:50:46 UTC

Communism seems to be the system that maximises individual liberty the most

2019-07-19 03:51:27 UTC

(I'm not a good commie? 😢 )

2019-07-19 03:52:43 UTC

However I suppose I'm a commie insofar as one points out the flaws of it being an end goal

2019-07-19 03:55:49 UTC

the libertarian theory is personal production in that a future society will reach a point where the cost of automation is cheap enough to allow average people to produce and sell their own goods

2019-07-19 03:57:46 UTC

this stems from the concept that the issues linked to automation stem from cost of investment

2019-07-19 04:03:07 UTC

Tribes

2019-07-19 04:03:13 UTC

post scarcity focuses on overall production rate which is fair but switching to a purely consumption based society would trigger stagnation

2019-07-19 04:03:26 UTC

I will call my tribe Israel

2019-07-19 04:03:37 UTC

Then the governemt can't get us

2019-07-19 04:04:35 UTC

A new nation of Israel

2019-07-19 04:04:43 UTC

It depends on the growth of supply verses growth of demand

2019-07-19 04:04:58 UTC

We will be seperatists

2019-07-19 04:05:31 UTC

There are limitations to people's demands

2019-07-19 04:05:36 UTC

thinking like that is the problem

2019-07-19 04:06:08 UTC

the cycle doesnt end because our immediate needs are met

2019-07-19 04:06:20 UTC

What do you mean?

2019-07-19 04:06:59 UTC

there arent any limitations

2019-07-19 04:07:24 UTC

if rate of change of supply is greater than rate of change of demand assuming both values are sustainable at the start then there is no way it can stagnate assuming constant influx

2019-07-19 04:07:29 UTC

Vienna blacks ok

2019-07-19 04:07:35 UTC

Not really my type

2019-07-19 04:08:23 UTC

it stagnates because of a lack of competition

2019-07-19 04:08:37 UTC

why so?

2019-07-19 04:08:59 UTC

People would have needs and demands and aspirations and they would establish their workplaces to follow suit and produce at quality

2019-07-19 04:09:08 UTC

The quality of goods wouldn't be limited to what is profitable

2019-07-19 04:09:24 UTC

exactly

2019-07-19 04:09:36 UTC

but that doesnt mean its the end

2019-07-19 04:10:02 UTC

Of course not, it'd just be a net increase in quality, difference is needs would consistently be met?

2019-07-19 04:10:03 UTC

there will always be more to gather more to explore more improvements to be made

2019-07-19 04:10:10 UTC

Right

2019-07-19 04:11:01 UTC

so you can establish that standard but not much beyond that

2019-07-19 04:11:58 UTC

That's not necessarily true if the aim is to perfect it and if there is a demand for better iterations of product?

2019-07-19 04:12:01 UTC

any development would be very slow no incentive to innovate no competition to drive innovation

2019-07-19 04:12:46 UTC

Does development solely stem from competition?

2019-07-19 04:13:02 UTC

a system based in personal production continues this while still maintaining that standard
