2018-07-08 03:37:55 UTC

@AiarUther No, I just like talking one on one, not to three different people

2018-07-08 03:38:41 UTC

It's better in text than voice.

2018-07-08 03:38:43 UTC

okay, I'll stop being a troll

2018-07-08 03:38:44 UTC

Alright, then let me repeat my question: What is the most basic of governments you can think of? One that provides commons defense, yes?

2018-07-08 03:38:55 UTC

yes

2018-07-08 03:39:11 UTC

The most rudimentary would be one that protects it citizens for some level of prosperity.

2018-07-08 03:39:12 UTC

@Fitzydog can this government exist without taxation?

2018-07-08 03:39:19 UTC

even the most simple?

2018-07-08 03:39:25 UTC

Yes, but how successful would it be?

2018-07-08 03:39:30 UTC

How long would it last?

2018-07-08 03:39:35 UTC

2018-07-08 03:39:43 UTC

Yes it's completely voluntary, it's just the 'main' group of 'border guards'

2018-07-08 03:39:57 UTC

Imagine my Locke

2018-07-08 03:40:05 UTC

Where's the violence against those who are ruled?

2018-07-08 03:40:18 UTC

As long as there was no dissent in the internal structure itself, it could last, but that would potentially have to be protected...

2018-07-08 03:40:20 UTC

the most rudimentary form of governments only purpose is to protect the rights of its citzenry

2018-07-08 03:40:20 UTC

"ruled"

2018-07-08 03:40:37 UTC

@VexenX I'm not speaking pragmatically

2018-07-08 03:40:41 UTC

@SOTGOR but still they need to fund themselves

2018-07-08 03:40:46 UTC

usually through taxes

2018-07-08 03:40:49 UTC

and taxation is theft

2018-07-08 03:40:52 UTC

wrong

2018-07-08 03:40:56 UTC

yes it is

2018-07-08 03:40:58 UTC

y

2018-07-08 03:40:58 UTC

taxation is theft

2018-07-08 03:40:59 UTC

@AiarUther Why? Every man brings what he can, if he wants

2018-07-08 03:41:20 UTC

pragmatism is the important principle here

2018-07-08 03:41:22 UTC

Taxation, by definition is theft

2018-07-08 03:41:22 UTC

The violence can be debated and broken down thusly... person A wants person B to do something that person B doesn't want to do. Person A has (over simplified) two choices, consequences for the disobedience or ignore it.

2018-07-08 03:41:39 UTC

@SOTGOR we're talking about objective ethics

2018-07-08 03:41:43 UTC

If they want to push their ideology on this one person, or group of people, at some point it comes to forcing them.
