I assume it's perhabs because DnD has different races like we have in real world and because it seperates those race in game and it was a hobby dominated by white males for a big part in the last 40 years this and the race separation perpetuates a system of racial distrust that pushes the priviledges of white males. Perhabs like a nerdish divide and conquer of the gaming community ?
