The Urus is just a sad and soulless corporate cash-in on the SUV craze.

2018-07-02 22:33:50 UTC

It looked gorgeous in its original concept art, but the actual production model is just not Lambo. It plays it safe and doesn’t inspire anyone by virtue of merely seeing it. No kid has a poster of a Urus on their wall. That’s not Lamborghini. It just isn’t.

2018-07-02 23:21:49 UTC

It's basically a touareg

2018-07-02 23:22:28 UTC

same as the bentayga

2018-07-02 23:23:31 UTC

I mean credit to VW corp where it's due, it's a cheap way of maximising profits if you can sell the same thing to customers of like 4 different companies without the majority of them realising it and with a massive premium on top from some of them

2018-07-02 23:23:58 UTC

but yeah it sucks

2018-07-03 00:58:14 UTC

Lets be fair, sharing VW parts was the only way a low volume brand like lambo could produce an SUV.

2018-07-03 00:58:52 UTC

Also that is probably why the LM002 never made it to production.

2018-07-03 00:59:40 UTC

My only gripe is that the Urus uses an Audi 4.0T. Lame. They should have at least given the motor to Lambo for tweaking.

2018-07-03 01:00:30 UTC

A high rev, low boost 4.0T bored out to 4.5 or 4.6 would be oerfect.

2018-07-03 03:42:44 UTC

Correction: bored and stroked

2018-07-03 03:43:02 UTC

a full 0.6 liter bore might be a bit much.

2018-07-03 05:59:10 UTC

dont knoct the TSI engines

2018-07-03 14:15:27 UTC

firstly, lambo shouldn't really be making suvs - that's not their market and honestly I think it degrades their name. At very least the lm002, as impractical and absurd as it was, was also unique as hell at the time as a v12 truck. secondly there is nothing wrong with a supercar/hypercar manufacturer only making low volume with a premium. Bugatti is vw but you'd be stretched to find any exposed shared parts in the chiron with the rest of their operations, even bentley

Ferrari said they will never make one. (Just badge it Alfa ;)

2018-07-03 14:50:02 UTC

well maserati already have the levante

2018-07-03 15:30:06 UTC

@LOGiK Bentley uses practically unchanged VW group engines. The 4.0T, 6.0T, and 4.0TDI are explicitly VW/Audi engines that they just shove into Bentleys unchanged.

2018-07-03 15:31:14 UTC

and bentley has been garbage since the vw acquisition, they build cars to sell to people who aren't interested in cars or driving but in badge status

2018-07-03 15:31:17 UTC

it's sad

2018-07-03 15:37:55 UTC

also as far as I'm aware the 6.75 in the mulsanne at least doesn't feature in any other car

2018-07-03 15:38:23 UTC

outside of bentley anyway

2018-07-04 20:04:01 UTC
