I want the Jimny to be sold here.
ha
I remember Jimnys from the 90s
Well that's one sale in the bag lads
they.. didn't have a great reputation.
Well they were never sold under that name in the US.
It was the Samurai here and it actually had and has a great reputation among serious off-roaders.
On road it wasn't so great because of the high center of gravity, and it ended up involved in a lawsuit between Suzuki and Consumer reports when they said it was likely to roll.
Oh my sister had a samurai
She took the family Cutlass and hid it in the mall parking lot
And tried to get rid of it but my parents found it so they bought her a new samurai
Damm
We do not negotiate with terrorists
fuck your Samurari, we have the car for you
wait why did they buy her a new car after hiding a car
if I had kids and they tried hiding / getting rid of a car
all they'd be driving is a fiat multipla
the majority of high ranking cars are such garbage
yup
I was most surprised by the mitsubishi lancer being 2
I feel like most of the cars I like we're probably sold in too small a volume to get on there.
well its also based on a third party warranty company
Well these individual cars are really at odds with the JD Power overall brand rankings here.
The thing is
I feel like it's a certain kind of owner who pays for these third party warranties
and also the nature of the business type lends itself to not accommodate rarer vehicles
most higher end cars wont have owners paying for that kind of warranty since they're more likely to want their cars to be handled by a specialist/dealer
Well that's also based on probably newer vehicles
I think warrantydirect will cover anything up to 10 years old
oh also since the reliabilityindex is based on UK cars, that means a ton more diesel engines are in that bunch
I know the diesel in the lexus IS220D is fucking junk
Yeah we don't get a single diesel Lexus here.
Also yeah these rankings are based on problems experienced over the course of one year in 3 year old models.
from the thread:
Unfortunately the engines fitted to the IS220d appear to have serious defects given the amount of posts on here and the web which have in the past resulted in Lexus fitting new engines or completely rebuilding them.
The failed head gasket problem can result in damage to other components like the turbocharger.
Clogged up EGR valves are another along with failed DPFs
The problem was so bad Lexus extended the warranty on the engines to 107,000 miles or 7 years provided the car had a FLSH.
Replacing just the head gasket will probably not provide a lasting repair as it is thought the problem is caused by the cylinder head moving on the block and the heads cannot be skimmed.
Strangely enough Lexus no longer produce a diesel engined model having been stung by their only venture into diesels.
I think we talked about this before and it makes no sense because Toyota has made diesels in trucks forever
