my idea would be a 2-door Golf-sized hatchback with a twin turbo Audi motor or possibly a VR6 which is the greatest six-cylinder engine ever devised, AWD, roughly 400hp and very wide with fat tires

it would be a perfect track weapon for one and its actually usable unlike most 400hp cars these days

theres no reason a fast car can't have a realistic sized cabin and storage area and basic features, all that power easily makes up for the weight

hell stick the TT RS inline 5 in it

thats a badass engine, descendant of the OG quattro

mark my words, hot hatches will be big soon

I'll take a hot hatch if it's RWD

already theres an arms race for super hot hatches, Golf R, Civic Type R, Focus RS, A45 AMG, Audi S3, and lots of like SEAT and peugout and shit

no you want AWD for a compact car honestly

the weight distribution favors AWD

these are primarily grip cars

the closest would be the A45 AMG at 376bhp which is technically faster to 60 but hey, 400 hurspurrs

also the M140i has 335bhp

so theres an M division hot hatch

the majority of hatchbacks don't do well as rwd because of the wheelbase, the w12 golf wasn't actually good if I recall

I don't think it's valid to call any of them "supercars"

weirdly the most interesting hatchbacks of the past outside of stuff like the lancia delta s4 was probably the renault turbo 2 and clio v6
