it's not a punch at Ferrari as it was in the 60s
It's a punch at GM
GM needs to punch back
and that thing^ doesn't even have a V8
the ford gt lost on Anglesey coastal to the amg gt r
VW kills off the Beetle to be replaced by....
A small, electric, RWD, rear 'engined' 2 door sedan?

Check out this batshit crazy GTI concept car. The car features a 6.0L W12 bi-turbo engine from the Bentley Continental GT delivering 650 PS (478 kW; 641 hp), 720 Nβ m (531 lbβ ft) of torque, 0-100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).[20] The W12 differs from the standard GTI in several ways. It features 19-inch wheels that resembled the GTI's. It is 70 mm (2.76 in) lower and 160 mm (6.30 in) wider, the rear seats have been removed to accommodate the mid-engine design, and the roof is made from carbon-fibre composite, front brakes are from the Audi RS4, and rear brakes and axle are from a Lamborghini Gallardo. The W12-650 achieved a time of 1:29.6 on BBC Top Gearβs Power Lap feature. Jeremy Clarkson showed that the car had some trouble with high-speed cornering but was extremely fast in the straight sections of the track.
mid engine
At that point just make it a spyder looking thing than keep the hatchback lol
no, this is actually a clever idea
you see a hatchback gives you a useful car type for city driving as it affords more luggage space than a sedan but with a smaller footprint than a wagon
super hot hatches are a thing now
I mean.... is the cargo space still usable?
the A45 AMG for instance is a 4-door hatchback supercar
yea
381HP AWD, 0-60 in 4.2s
Thinking about it though, a VW MR-2 kind of thing would be kinda neat
my idea would be a 2-door Golf-sized hatchback with a twin turbo Audi motor or possibly a VR6 which is the greatest six-cylinder engine ever devised, AWD, roughly 400hp and very wide with fat tires
it would be a perfect track weapon for one and its actually usable unlike most 400hp cars these days
theres no reason a fast car can't have a realistic sized cabin and storage area and basic features, all that power easily makes up for the weight
hell stick the TT RS inline 5 in it
thats a badass engine, descendant of the OG quattro
80 horsepower per cylinder, 160HP per liter
mark my words, hot hatches will be big soon
I'll take a hot hatch if it's RWD
already theres an arms race for super hot hatches, Golf R, Civic Type R, Focus RS, A45 AMG, Audi S3, and lots of like SEAT and peugout and shit
no you want AWD for a compact car honestly
the weight distribution favors AWD
these are primarily grip cars
π€·
RWD wouldn't be that useful with so little weight versus that power
not without comically wide tires
"Useful" is a relative term lol
which the hatchback body style is best suited for square sets of wheels and AWD
btw what i described basically exists
not in the US i think unfortunately
but still, 400hp hatchback
