Can't be too hard
yeah I just wonder if it'd be legal
it's obviously possible
Or just go back to WWI shit and convert bolt actions to selfloaders
You could also possibly use a feature that if the trigger has already been pressed, if it's pressed again as soon as possible (mainting pressure) then the weight of the trigger is much less, making the trigger still safe getting started but easier to fire multiple shots
So a two stage trigger?
if that's what you'd call it, sure
It's all entirely doable, but it's not been done because regular automatics are simpler and nobody wants to get the ATF on them
isn't that what caused waco
IIRC the ATF went after them because they were making some device like that which made semi automatics fire like automatics
I think they tried to claim that
just got back from the range
there was a guy with a bullpup 6.5cm deserttech
next to me shooting .5" groups using little circle note stickers
I was amazed.
I was shooting 338 lap but I have been unable to bring my groups under .7" without a bench rest
my fucking scope rings got loose when I was shooting
causing my groups to drop 3" down suddenly
lol
not good
I dunno why he would choose that; but from a bolt action perspective it's kinda sensible
in a use case where he actually needed a super precise shot; it's not like he's likely to do significant followups
so cycling the action is not super duper important
he was a really good shooter though
like; he was hitting the center of those fucking little stickers without any problem
I ran out of ladder tests, zoomed in on his target and watched him shoot
I want to get to his skill level
but I do not want to be as obese as he was
giant beer belly
sad thing is; with my SPR (18", SS, Heavy profile ML Gas) AR, I can shoot better followups than with my fucking super expensive 338 lap
First shot I'm generally dead on; everything after that is usually offset because I keep fucking flinching like a pussy
I take it that you have an armory?
not really
aw
I have 4 distinct rifles (AR w/ .458 socom 16", AR w/ 223 wylde 18", Savage FVSR 22lr, and my sako TRG-42 in 338 lap)
and one pistol
The .458 was just a workaround; I didn't want to need to ditch my standard cap kits so I re-labeled them all to 458
Also; I did want to buy a 45/70, and this is just as good
I don't really have anything milsurp, although I might get ahold of a M1A in 308 so I can go 2 gun
I didn't want to go and get some rifle that would get me halfway to 2000Y
