bad triggers
right, explain something to me this instant
why is 9mm not good enough for self defense?
its a bullet
I put it so bluntly because I hear people piss and moan about 9mm pistols and whatnot, demanding something at least 30 cal or .45....... what, can 9mm not break the skin?
It's a matter of how hard it hits, for lack of a better term. Some people take a lot of damage before going down. Used to work in an ER and people would still be up and around with bullets in them. Sure they're bleeding and likely to die without help, but in the short term, I'm looking for something with more kick.
Lots of people piss and moan about any and all types of firearms and the ammunition they use though
Basically you want the optimum balance between stopping power and something you can shoot without breaking your wrist
Usually it's just a pissing contest
You can shoot people with bullets of all shapes and sizes and not instantly kill them. A bigger bullet makes it more likely you'll do more serious damage or actually knock someone down
That's why gigantic revolvers are a thing
I do have to agree with Reaps though. There is a bit of "pissing contest" involved.
Also something about hydrostatic shock, but idk about that
Usually from what I've seen, home defence selection includes ensuring that if you fire and miss (or even hit), that it doesn't go through the next four layers of drywall and hit someone else, which you inevitably will get hauled into court for
That's gonna be ball ammo vs hollowpoints
Not ammo size
actually this guy does a lot of ammo breakdowns, so I won't fill up the entire page with his videos
jacketed round are far more likely to punch through and keep going
yeah, that's what I pointed out to a friend living in tightly knit-together apartment building wanting to get a fucking beowolf rifle
eesh
Just get a shotgun with small pellets
My 50 yo Dad wants a god damn beowolf rifle
he moved down to texas a couple years back and happened to get into shooting as a hobby
Not too familiar with it, but it looks like a scaled up .45 acp
Maybe try that instead, perhaps slightly less overpenetration risk?
no, 458 and 50 beowulf compete with each other.
Love how it's going back to old school "big chunk of lead" style of design
458 is just as bad a punching holes, its made to stop cars
Ah, shit
Disregard my advice then
Any West World fans here who have seen the season 2 finale and know stuff about guns
Just make sure if he insists on something big that he gets frangible ammo or something that's mostly lead
they made those big bore AR calibers for use on checkpoint duty so you can hit the cars engine and seize it.
@Over.9000.Pepes No, then yes.
Get a shotgun with magnum birdshot
its all you need in an apartment
harrel actually has a video on that too
Even a 20 gauge can cut it up close
