it's still looking bad
the Stellarite Devourer has lost about 1/5th health when the fucking Lokken Mechanists (empire that a friend created, was fortunate enough to find in this single player game) jump in with a 20k fleet, and they're not even in the war with me, they just have sensor data. which means that they saw this thing about to ravage my home system and thought "can't be having that, they've got better tech than I do, and they give me research grants" and got their fleet over there to help
at this point the battle has been waging for 2 months
during that time, a fresh wave of Venators had rolled off the line at my 12 spaceports, and I'm dead broke
they slowly trickle into the system and either engage the Stellarite Devourer head on because it's where they jumped in from, or join the main fleet and bombard from a relatively safe distance
after the most nerve racking 3 months I've ever had in Stellaris, the thing finally dies
and now, the remnants of the Robot Empire's fleet engages what's left of mine
because having a break is for chumps
I come out on top, barely, thanks to my spaceport chipping in when they got into range (my fleet was still near the centre of the system, the Stellarite Devourer was about halfway to it when it died)
it took me over half an hour to fight that engagement
I've never been so terrified in my life lmao
and to add onto that, it was only the year 2238
Jesus fuck @nic
Sounds extremely clutch
It was
I was sweatin man
I didn't know the devourer could actually come after you, but I never really engaged it that early
I didn't know either, lucky me
But yeah, I was fucked if I didn't luck out by two empires interfering with the battle
it's like in EU4, where you can lure in your allies to clear up your rebels, if you give them military access
have them waste their manpower
instead of your own
Kind of, but not really, because unfortunately the Stellaris AI isn't as interactive as I'd like it to be.
I was just really lucky that the Lokken had sensor data and chose to act
I think the next time I load up my game in going to send them a hefty sum of energy credits and minerals for their trouble
@nic what mod were you playing with?
To get venators
I was using the Rebel Alliance ship pack for this one
I normally use the Imperial ship pack, but changed it up for this run
And I still got Venators <3
I love that ship, and apparently I cannot get away from it
Get you a girl like this tbh
Venator is best ship
I see you are a man of culture as well
Battlecarrier is best ship type
Indeed
@nic is there a republic ship pack?
So anyways
Am down for multiplayer of... something.. if anyone is interested (and we have the same game)
I have Squad, but haven't tried it
Interstellar Marines isn't too bad, but pretty much dead. PvE multi is still fun though
Still haven't played 7 Days to Die since the newest major update dropped several months ago
oh yeah, Space Hulk Deathwing. Would still like to try that out in a squad
@Deleted User not that I'm aware of unfortunately
The Empire ship pack has many republic ships however
Such as the Venator and the Arquitens
And the Acclamator
cool
too bad I'm going to wait a long while before playing stellaris 2.0
cuz I need my mods
lul, won a game of throne of lies as cult leader, and only got off 1 convert. Luckily he was a god at the game, and convinced the goody-goodies to hang eachother.
