her and barton's dynamic in Avengers highly implied they had some sort of thing going

she even says the reason she's alive is cause he decided not to kill her, and recruit her instead

for Barton's family to be revealed was fine, he's a good example of a "both worlds" character then

But to suddenly have nat, the super-cool super-spy badass who breaks hearts and necks for a living, to date the anxious rage-man?

Wot?

You can have him appear to have feelings for her, but she wants too be professional about it

and it comes from that weird "go to sleep" maneuver she can pull on him

Joss Whedon's general behaviour, thought pattern, and overall life is oddly similar to pretty much everything he is involved with

they figure out taht it works and Bruce starts getting a little infatuated while Nat cannot let that happen yadda yadda

Point is, Avengers Assemble was his masterpiece hero film

Initially unique and interesting, but ultimately goes nowhere and is ultimately cancelled

and AoU was a hot mess by comparison
