Except you shouldn't need to know all that shit in order for the *films to make sense in the first place*
It's information that we needed *in* the movies, obviously.
:/
Maybe dedicate a nice quiet scene in TFA to Leia talking to Finn and maybe Poe about the first order
before the rescue mission but not so close to it as to make it seem like a weird stop

takl about how the empire was harder to get rid of than just destroying one battle station, and that the republic refused to become a new empire and so allowed chunks of it to survive
"ohhh, so the Republic is cool and actually 'in power' but you've got this kinda-covert ops thing going on with 'the resistance' against what are supposed to be remnants of the Empire that exist in various sectors or something, cool"
*meanwhile in the film*
THE NEW ORDER IS ALL-POWERFUL AND ENCOMPASSING, SWEEPING ASIDE PETTY REBEL RESISTANCE, AND STRONG ENOUGH TO HAVE DEVELOPED AN ENTIRE PLANET THAT SHOOTS LAZ0R BEEEEMS
and from those chunks the first order came in
prequels > sequels
Okay no, but it's very close.
there's actually a cool idea about where Starkiller base came from
```The problem with the political scenes in the prequels wasn't the political scenes themselves; it's that they were jarringly displaced by all the other elements that tried to market the films at a younger and younger audience; in that sense it was like the prequels didn't know to whom they were trying to appeal (or a more classic case of trying to appeal to everybody and thus not being particularly appealing to anybody)```
yeah true
BIGGAR DESTH STAR
the thought is that Starkiller base was a planet that the Jedi once used to mine Kyber Crystals, hence the supercannon that uses kyber tech
yes, this is an old theory
and that it was originally out in the other half of the galaxy nobody can easily get to
doesn't change much though
and that the first order just used some old plans and turned the mining operation into a battle-cannon
>the thought is...
So just unconfirmed fan theories?
again, if you can't understand stuff in the movies without outside material, your movie sucks
the thing that noonse seems to mention, and that gives me the shits, is how... what's his face, the black guy, his character
We clearly see he is a stormtrooper
Exactly nic
Finn
supposedly raised from birth to be one or some shit like that
right.
why does Finn not know about first order tech
But he does?
And towards the end of the movie he basically says he was a janitor.
*nnnnnnnooooooooooooo*
He said he spent time *as a janitor* on starkiller base
and why does he not immediantly tell the resistence about it as soon as he defects
I can guess, based on the fact he's been in the FO since beign a kid
that *maybe*
just *maybe*
he was a janitor first
and *then* was trained as a soldier
so then starkiller base is at least 10 years old
