@EnderOctanus those are some solid arguments. Willpower is way too overrated you need a system to defeat addictions

2019-03-08 06:50:06 UTC

Rationalism realism and pragmatism are the only ways

2019-03-08 13:43:47 UTC

Well, I'm glad y'all gained something from the West.

2019-03-08 13:47:14 UTC

The west is based on the judeo christian values and christian traditions mainly

2019-03-08 13:47:23 UTC

And both were invented by jews

2019-03-08 13:48:00 UTC

And why do you think that Greeks are part of the west ?

2019-03-08 13:48:13 UTC

They are literally at eastern Europe

2019-03-08 13:49:30 UTC

Because the Romans stole their culture

2019-03-08 13:50:07 UTC

Because they're on the Western side of the sea from Turkey?

2019-03-08 13:50:12 UTC

And the Greeks had some colonies west of Italy

2019-03-08 13:50:15 UTC

And the greeks stole their culture and genetics from phoenicians kek

2019-03-08 13:51:07 UTC

The Aegean sea is the dividing line

2019-03-08 14:05:32 UTC

Is he claiming the jews invented everything, like the greeks always do?

2019-03-08 14:12:58 UTC

the greeks invented autism

2019-03-08 14:25:55 UTC

UwU

2019-03-08 15:17:28 UTC

@EnderOctanus Yes, I believe he is

pretty fucking nuts how much effort went into a show that only played 30 times total

2019-03-09 03:24:23 UTC

there was a great video that i saw recently that showed just how warlike and power hungry the natives were, and it really puts things more into perspective about those times, and i think just that fact alone diminishes any justifiable outrage about Columbus. Unfortunately i cant find the video, but i'm sure any historical source of the native people people would be sufficient.

2019-03-09 06:39:18 UTC

@AlanPowell The dude sought out preteen girls for sex slavery. Nothing can diminish his acttions. He was also in complete command of the expedition, sp EVERYTHING his men did, was PERMITTED by him, making him directly responsible for the rape of countless girls.

2019-03-09 06:39:58 UTC

He even casually notes how popular the 8 year olds are, and how high of a price they go for.

2019-03-09 06:41:18 UTC

I wouldn't give a shit if they only raped adult or even older teen women, because frankly that's just what people did back then. But they were fucking children even by the standards of the time.

2019-03-09 06:41:41 UTC

we talked about this before

2019-03-09 06:41:55 UTC

I frankly don't even care that they enslaved the women. Conquerors do that shit. But the kids.

2019-03-09 06:42:20 UTC

the point i'm trying to make is if he was any worse than the other people around back then

2019-03-09 06:42:31 UTC

That is a wilfull act of evil that no culture would accept, not even back then.

2019-03-09 06:42:50 UTC

is that so?

2019-03-09 06:43:15 UTC

It was criminal to rape children, yes.

2019-03-09 06:43:26 UTC

You would be executed in Spain.

2019-03-09 06:45:05 UTC

So they clearly did not see it as an acceptable spoil of war. The older girls were probably fine to do whatever with, they were property. But the people sent missionaries to convert the savages. You do not do that if you think they're literally just animals

2019-03-09 06:45:55 UTC

ok

2019-03-09 06:46:13 UTC

So there was also clearly a line to be drawn. If you can cohvert someone, then killing them is also murder. And raping them is also adultery. Just by a religious arguement alone.

2019-03-09 06:46:38 UTC

true

2019-03-09 06:47:29 UTC

I think much of what he did would have been acceptable. But he did shit way beyond the pale for an honorable person to do.

2019-03-09 06:48:47 UTC

Rape was undoubtedly extremely common back then, but was kept quiet because it was disgraceful.

2019-03-09 06:51:14 UTC

Colombus was disgraceful, therefore, not just because he did those things, but also because of the sheer SCALE at which he did them. The Pope did not give pardon to all sins like the crusaders. The people would have wanted him lynched if they found out and had any actual power. Superstition is a hell of a thing, don't want your city destroyed because a sodomizer of thousands walks through.

2019-03-09 08:28:52 UTC

Missionaries didnt come until around his 3rd expedition. People who were not converted were seen as animals and lessers. Between his 3rd expidetion and his 4th his crimes were being counted due to now he was a governor, and the locals were being converted and deamed spanish citizens. He soon after (soon being relative as things happened back then) was stripped of titles, land, and prestige as punishment.

2019-03-09 08:31:30 UTC

His first expidition he actually didnt commit any notable crimes of the time, as he actually did believe he was in the east indies, and wasnt completely sure if that was unclaimed territory yet. By the second he knew for sure and started the atrocities (many of which were not even crimes back then for before stated reasons as well as time frame.)

2019-03-09 09:46:32 UTC

so which age was the line of rape in spain?
