Image if the USA invaded Mexico, destroyed thed cartels and tried to stanles the country and economy? It might be cheaper longer term than a wall if we got rid of the reason illegals wanted to leave Mexico in the first place. We need to clean up our neighborhood before worrying about the rest of the world.

I respect the thought behind the wall. Something needs to be done for border security. I am just not sure a wall is the most effective way to spend our money to that end.

I really think the wall needs to be more metaphorical than literal. Put enough active pressure on the cartels and they will either back off or escalate matters

Tunneling in a focused spot is much easier to deal with than random route across the desert hundreds of miles apart
