Ironically the MSM (Except Fox) was saying that you COULDN'T politicize the illigal alien shooting

2018-09-01 22:53:23 UTC

And then turned and politicized others

There was context for the murder to attack the Democrat policies that caused her death.

There was no justifying context to attack Trump and promote Democrats at a funeral

Germany seem to be having similar opinions in a certain city...

2018-09-01 22:58:23 UTC

I have heard that sentiment is common in that area

2018-09-01 22:58:37 UTC

a lot of disgruntled people who lived under the USSR

Anyone know any books that lay out Progressive philosophy regarding government? I have a friend trying to get read up on political theory and I suggested Locke and the Federalist Papers to start but I can't think of a single book he could read that would give a good basis for American Progressivism.

2018-09-01 23:48:31 UTC

"progressive" is entirely subjective.

They label the murder of unborn babies and the mutilation of their living body by clamp a "Progressive choice".

2018-09-01 23:49:18 UTC

Looking for the stuff from late 1800s to 1930s or so

2018-09-01 23:49:53 UTC

"Progressivism" is not a philosophy or political field. Postmodernism is.

2018-09-01 23:50:49 UTC

Self defined "progressives" are postmodernists

2018-09-01 23:51:48 UTC

That would be after the timeframe in question. American Progressives were a somewhat defined thing, though not nearly as well defined as Classical Liberals or Marxists. I can pull half a dozen books that add up to the whole, but I can't think of one that lays it out singularly.

2018-09-01 23:52:28 UTC

Liberal Modernism is a precursor

2018-09-01 23:52:55 UTC

Perhaps

2018-09-01 23:57:42 UTC

Look into andrew jackson, lbj, fdr

2018-09-01 23:57:44 UTC

@Almagafor For the late 1800's to early 1900s, consider looking into Theodore Roosevelt's political theories

2018-09-02 00:01:29 UTC

Teddy was my first thought, I’ll see if I can find a biography that gets heavily into his theory.

2018-09-02 00:02:37 UTC

FDR is another good basis for american liberal. He layed a lot of groundwork for the modern liberal stances. Like welfare and so on.

2018-09-02 00:05:21 UTC

He was kind of a natural step from Teddy, Wilson was an aberration.

2018-09-02 00:08:56 UTC

Teddy was tame policy wise compared to FDR

2018-09-02 00:10:08 UTC

Some books are referenced in that article

2018-09-02 00:10:40 UTC

But I doubt modern progressives have any sort of "works" they can draw off of

2018-09-02 00:11:01 UTC

Maybe Chomsky? He's always getting his dick sucked by the Left

2018-09-02 00:12:55 UTC

That page is rather.....slanted

2018-09-02 00:19:01 UTC

I dare you to find one thats not slanted in either direction.

2018-09-02 00:20:05 UTC

Fair. Granted usually wiki is slanted in a certain direction.
