So I nearly got into an argument with my political philosophy TA and a few students about 30 minutes ago.

And the reason is something you guys will appreciate

We were talking about Confucius and having rulers with good character and how the good or bad character sets the standard and gives people a path to follow in terms of character. By now you can probably see where this is going. My TA said that Trumps election brought the "deplorables" into the light. Making them think that they have the right to say what they believe. On top of that you now have people who say they have the right to say their beliefs and if you try to take them down you are somehow the fascist.
