The empire was about preventing other nations from controlling the world economy - best way to prevent someone from owning territory is controlling that territory yourself. This all ended after WW1 (WW2 was about teaching Germany to get with the times).
Truth is, free trade is what creates economy. Wealth isn't taken, it's exchanged. It's grown with investment. Britain has the United States, they have Japan, they have China, they have a lot of economies OUTSIDE OF EUROPE to trade with. It's so simple. There's no reason why those other nations would hate britain - if anything, they'd profit by trading with outlier who's going against the EU, who is a competitor for global status. Britain is helping these other nations by trading with them, so there's no reason they would reject britain.
You seem to have fundamental misunderstanding of actual free trade and global politics. I suggest you stop being an NPC and read something that isn't from the MSM propaganda machine. Either that, or you just let your hatred of the USA blind you."
