well the culture will change with migrants

2019-01-18 03:26:27 UTC

Then don't bring in migrants

2019-01-18 03:26:29 UTC

alternative is that, because birth rates are low, then welfare can't be supported

2019-01-18 03:27:03 UTC

You don't need welfare with less people, because then employment is scarce and wages go up

2019-01-18 03:27:18 UTC

lol yea

2019-01-18 03:27:39 UTC

but the argument is that they can't pay their taxes

2019-01-18 03:27:47 UTC

because taxes have to go up

2019-01-18 03:27:49 UTC

It's a false equivalency

2019-01-18 03:27:53 UTC

along with wages

2019-01-18 03:27:58 UTC

how is it false tho

2019-01-18 03:28:08 UTC

more people in retirement means more taxes needed to support them

2019-01-18 03:28:19 UTC

The argument is that you need migrants to replace your population, to support the old people

2019-01-18 03:28:34 UTC

yeah but lets look at the context surrounding that argument

2019-01-18 03:28:36 UTC

If people earn more, then you get more taxes, yes?

2019-01-18 03:28:42 UTC

the argument is longer than that

2019-01-18 03:28:51 UTC

the conclusion to the argument is you need more migrants

2019-01-18 03:28:56 UTC

If people earn more, that means more people in higher tax brackets

2019-01-18 03:28:57 UTC

and that culture change is inevitable

2019-01-18 03:29:03 UTC

Says who?

2019-01-18 03:29:05 UTC

You?

2019-01-18 03:29:08 UTC

unless birth rates of natives can be encouraged

2019-01-18 03:29:25 UTC

well i say that, because when there's a large amount of immigration, it happens

2019-01-18 03:29:27 UTC

which you agreed with

2019-01-18 03:29:29 UTC

Sounds like you've swallowed too much soyboy jizz

2019-01-18 03:29:38 UTC

haha no

2019-01-18 03:29:41 UTC

read my argument

2019-01-18 03:29:44 UTC

I did

2019-01-18 03:29:48 UTC

did you

2019-01-18 03:29:49 UTC

The whole premise is wrong

2019-01-18 03:30:06 UTC

okay, well your argument was that wages would go up because employment is down

2019-01-18 03:30:09 UTC

but taxes will also have to rise

2019-01-18 03:30:17 UTC

will wages be enough to pay for the taxes needed

2019-01-18 03:30:22 UTC

for the retirement budget

2019-01-18 03:30:30 UTC

because govt is at least going to have support the poor in retirement

2019-01-18 03:30:51 UTC

I'd reply, but you keep on typing and I don't get a chance to respond.

2019-01-18 03:30:59 UTC

they could take away retirement, but the only way the people would approve of that solution is when things get really bad

2019-01-18 03:31:21 UTC

ok, im almost done

2019-01-18 03:32:24 UTC

people never actually agree with the govt when they say they don't have enough money, it always comes across like an excuse or something - and higher taxes when they can't pay them wouldn't go over well, especially if they need to tax the poor higher too

2019-01-18 03:32:51 UTC

things would have to get really bad before people agree to austerity

2019-01-18 03:32:57 UTC

isn't that generally how it is

2019-01-18 03:33:10 UTC

ok im done
