Do you think a robber is gonna rob your house if there is a good chance you have a gun in your house?
if he knows about my wicked pasta recipe <:thronk:441701565607444482>
Just put an American flag outside. That's what I do π€·πΏ
Arent there some regions of Italy(particularly at bars) which already do that?

but that Islamophobic. Trudeau did say they are going to be a huge benefit for a nation
Maybe this subject doesn't fit here, but I'm an American who's been researching the influnce and leverage the royal family has in the UK and I wanted to just ask... Given the Queen is under-utilizing her one vote in parliament and she stays pretty apolitical... Do you wish the royals were more involved in politics, or do you think their current level of humility is preferable?
She's last resort.
BIG RED BUTTON
in Norway the king have no political power by design to be sure things are still in the hands of the people. The UK system have evolved over a long time as they did have civil wars where the king was overstepping his power.
I think that it depends on how she uses it.
So in other news Venezuelans Congress President just assumed as Interim president to form a transition government and call General elections
If she saves the system, go for it. If she goes Palpatine, nope.
That's the interesting thing; it seems like the British royals give their people a sense of historical / cultural continuity that makes them feel comfortable, yet at the same time (almost three times in the last 100 years) the people are quick to talk about cutting them off if they step out of line.
Yeah amd now we are finally considered invading.
and Maduro is not going to let that fly
But anyway, I think the Queen can completely anull Parliament, can't she?
She might still have power. What started my dig was learning she always has a vote but that it's "known" that she almost never votes.
Of course not
They can't
That's why shits gonna hit the fan
The UK might need to Roman Republic this. A Dictator for the crisis.
So then I was like, hey... Shouldn't the royals care about Brexit, etc etc
The only thing that might be able to accomplish something is a military insurrection
But good luck with that
the last royal that had the power to annul the UK parliament was King Charles I in 1649, the queen do dissolves it before elections and not much more then that
So when is next election?
when King Charles did do it, it ended in a civil war that he did loose and was executed for treason
War of the Roses right?
And if you think about it too hard, that means the Brits kinda killed God... Or at least their pope more or less.
That is true.
Maybe this is all divine retribution.
war of the roses 1455-1485 was before the English civil war was 1642-1651
