There is no distinct thing I know that triggers the ability to see it but it happens from time to time. I'm sure it has happened to all of you at least a few times in your life, or at least once a year. It is short lived and easily overlooked/forgotten.

I have come to understand *metaphysical* as a fancy word for what could simply be called spirit. The spirit which inhabits all matter, imbued upon it by the Creator's energy/will.
