there was a huge push to go from plastic bags to paper bags here in Norway until a professor did point out that paper bags in the big picture was twice as bad for the environment then plastic bags as plastic bags was like +70% recycled plastic
making these sturdy paperbags also uses a lot of chemical processing

and that is what a lot of environmentalists forgets, the big picture. sure you tesla is environmental today as it runs on free-range solar wind energy but when it cloudy tomorrow it is running on coal and then all that you did save last year is gone in a day and let not speak about the batteries of electric cars

I was in Wales a few years ago and we went to McDonald's, the girl asks us "you want a bag with that" and I said yes, obviously, we were not going to carry 2 meals + drinks in our hands lol
the guy in front of us refused the bag and struggled to carry his shit away
so we're sat in our car eating our food, finish it, put all the waste in the bag ready to deposit if in a bin
the guy who was in front of us was parked a few bays down, when he was done he just launched all his rubbish out of his car window and drove off
so us having a bag actually reduced the amount of litter?????

there is a parking lot near my house where truckdrivers park overnight, there is no dustbin and shit lying around everywhere
did see a fun thing about Gas and brexit, as they did claim after brexit UK was to run out of gas as they was depended on the EU for it. it turns out most of it they get themselves from the north sea and rest comes from norway 😛
