We haven't had a decent discussion on how the climate will actually change because the entire devate has been hijacked by leftists who claim that if we dont do what they say, everyone is going to die. This makes others have a guilty conscience and take their position if for nothing else but to make themselves feel better.
But they all seem to ignore the fact that the biggest polluters in the world are actually from developing and undeveloped countries. They get ever diminishing returns when they focus on developed countries, when they really should be focusing on the less fortunate.
Besides, more and more evidence is coming out that suggests that when the climate changes dramatically, it does so in a very short time span, possibly without any warning. Something à la a meteor strike, solar flare or massive volcanic eruption.
the "do what we say, or everyone is going to die" thing seems very sinister to me. it's the exact thing you would expect some power hungry evil fuckers to pull
All sane scientist belove that humans have an effect on the climate. That is undeniable, however what they dont agree on is how much effect we have on the environment. Humans are just one factor in a very complicated equation, so we cant just say that humans are the *only* reason the climate is changing.
a lot of the we are doomed people are trying to sell governments their solution to the problem, it simple just give us a few trillion dollars and we fix it with magic
I'm kinda skeptical about all those statistics that say that they were the most economically wealthy country in the world for thousands of years of history. I'm sure that it was true, but its pretty easy to do when you have the most people in the world within you country. Was was the gdp per capita at the time?
