What you turn to a public speaker like that you pretty much have to otherwise people will destroy you say pretty harshly
the latter three were rather casual and off the cuff as they were
but whenever it turns to JBP (I listen to rubin audio-only usually) you can like, feel him thinking his thoughts
I think the number of people that don't operate as expected within the dominance hierarchy is a lot higher than you expect.
and each word he says sounds like it should be accompanied by a slow fade to a cosmic background
with his eyes glowing
he's got this psuedo-prophetic cadance to him that's rally facinating
I don't know if I describe it right
Because people are always pressing the boundaries of what they can get away with and with technology and personal choice we escaped that hire every so often I think it's actually a part of our psyche to attempt to get past it
@flyingfoxel I think you misunderstood me.
*That* is what's special about humans
but he's got this control and intensity that I find really admirable
you know what I mean?
Sometimes he comes off as pretentious and way over the top for the setting
Give me sounds like a trained the preacher and has used that to his advantage
but it's a really great speaking method to command a room
I can do the same thing and sound like every word I say has great inportance it's not hard every preacher and every imam learns how to do it
@flyingfoxel No, cause that's what Dyson does lol
I just think he does it exceptionally well compared to whoever he's usually against
I'd like to see him against someone else who also has the same sort of concentrated intensity
alright, well, the potential conversation about hierarchies would have been fun 🤷🏻
lol
If you want to see that you can see both the shitfest and the circle jerk by watching his conversations with ... Well one of the four horsemen I can't remember what his name is
Dawkins?
The Jewish guy Freund of dawkins
Sam haris
oh, yeah, he needs to be a bit more humble in his interactions
the problem with being certain your philosophical position is you can't accept the possibility of being wrong and thus come off is being incredibly arrogant.
In Peterson's mine in his personal truth he is a hundred percent sure that he is correct.
I much prefer ham sarris.
I think peterson's willing to adapt
but sometimes kinda
forgets
to listen
happens to everyone
His "stay sleeping" podcast is really insightful
I would listen to Sam Harris more if I could stand his voice
Just the sound of his voice fills me with unrelenting rage.
Like, I totally get what Peterson is trying to get across. Makes perfect sense to me.
But he uses too much metaphysical language to get his points across, which turns some people off who aren't paying too close attention to the content of his message
And I have nowhere to direct it because I can't disagree with him
@Fitzydog my working theory is if you can't explain it to a five-year-old you are either trying to trick the person into agreeing with you or you don't fully understand the concept with which you are arguing with
