I was asking you a question
not implying anything
Is the reduction of misery a Objective moral fact?
Rights without duties are privileges
I didnt think you believed in objective morality
@Fitzydog right are something that cannot be granted
It's something that is innate
The only rights are those you make for yourself
Where’d you get that idea?
No no, don't go lying now, that would be immoral. You really don't care about human misery, you care about passing judgement. It is a direct result of your belief in an objective morality that is unbending. What matters in that worldview is sticking to the rules, not what reduces suffering or promotes wellbeing. It is of course true that suffering is an inescapable part of life, without which joy could not exist either, but the sources of misery and pain in life are so varied and numerous that a reduction which can be achieved or at least not making life worse, is at the very least one moral goal that isn't sadistic.
lol
Life is misery
I dont care to take Moral lessons from someone who believes them to be nothing more than a personal preference.
"lalala I can't hear you"
What else could they be, given you could search all your life and never find an objective standard of morality anywhere
If morality is not objective than anything is permissible
Even people with the same religious faith differ in their moral choices
you're talking to a former pos drunk and substance abuser here @Roarey
I have never claimed to be perfect
It's why he's so entrenched with the stick up his anus
Everything IS permissable, hence human cruelty and evil is a practically non depletable resource. What we have are ethical frameworks that we can come to an agreement on in society and enshrine in law with penalties for breaking them. And they are always broken by people. Aren't they. Therefore no objective morality exists.
Was the holocaust morally justified to those who held it as their preference @Roarey
<:think_madpepe:378717098630971395>
Yes it was morally justified by the people who did it, which is why they fucking did it
I don't think you know what objective morality is
Foolish birb
But the holocaust isn't justified to us, because we have a different moral standard
What makes our preference better?
Based on hundreds of years of philosophy, science and legal experience
That's the very question, yes
and how do you know you're top shit?
But that is just a personal "preference"
an opinion
How do we know? We don't, but we can make the argument for it. And each moral belief we have has reasoning behind it.
I dont argue about what color is my favorite
i just have a preference
@Roarey see, you're just not woke enough to understand that we're superior to everyone else
duh
