@Angus @meratrix I highly doubt evolution can work that way, it just majes no sense. Evolution just means those who spread their genes more... well, gonna have their genes spread which means their genes will be more common, and so over time everyone evolves to have those genes that contribute to the goal of spreading your genes. This mechanism isn't smart enough to have population conntrol in it.
I did ear some arguments for why it could actually be an evaluationary benefit, but I think it would make more sense if it was more like an evolutionary mistake

Also, a small correction, just because gays don't produce offsprings doesn't mean evolution can't spread gayness, bcause it's possible for it to spread from the parents of the gay kid, if the gayness of the kid gave them some sort of evolutionary adventage. This is how bees have evolved to kill them self, despite the fact they can't spread their genes further after dying

There's always an impact from genes. In this case those would be the genes of the mother, that made her create those hormones, or the genes of the kid, that made him turn gay because of hormones
