Yeah, the book wasn't awful or anything, it was just...another fairly average book. Not really interested in the movie either.

2019-01-11 11:32:43 UTC

@Broo TulsiGang 2024 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ idk that the movie added that in tbh, the book seemed like had socialist undertones and strong independent women that don't need no man

2019-01-11 11:33:53 UTC

Well, my favorite books tend to be classic sci-fi. Asimov, Niven, Heinlein, that sort of thing. If I had to pick one absolute favorite, likely Asimov's Foundation series as a whole, since it's functionally one long book split into parts.

2019-01-11 11:34:05 UTC

If I recall, it was originally published as a serial via magazines.

2019-01-11 11:34:29 UTC

Have you even read Locke? <:ohsargon:451135765368274954>

John Locke

2019-01-11 11:35:11 UTC

Foundation wasn't published in magazines

Challenger 2 is not powerful enough as main battle tank i.e. zero future proofing

2019-01-11 11:37:34 UTC

It's fine if up against older Russian hardware in the Middle East

2019-01-11 11:38:51 UTC

[mind you, latest Russian hardware is untested, so might actually work well against it too]

2019-01-11 11:39:01 UTC

Ah. No, first part of Foundation was published in Astounding Science Fiction in May 1942.

2019-01-11 11:39:47 UTC

Well, techincally, the second part. The very first part of the book was written later as a prologue.

2019-01-11 11:47:59 UTC

Are you talking about a theoretical communist economy that might actually work in a post-scarity society, or are you talking about actual communist economies that have been attempted?

The State takes my money
