@The Eternal Swede Nah I think it accurately portrays the civil rights era. There are plenty of Italians and Irish, Vito also returns. You work with him to "avenge" Joe, though he's actually revealed to be alive at the end of the game, working for Leo.
Lincoln wasn't as good a protag as Vito but I still liked him and his moral ambiguity.
@snake Lincoln dosen't actually join any particular mob, he goes to war with the American mafia, and brings others under his control. The Italians, Haitians, and Irish mobs that you work with, are all as you describe.
I think Lincoln was well-voiced also.

Mafia 3 works pretty well as a movie, the voice acting was one of the best things about it.
Also Lincoln was a member of the Black mob, who are destroyed, and replaced by Dixie mafia, then by the Haitians, who were at war with the black mob over a disagreement with their cooperation with the Italian mob.

Death Stranding seemed too much of a weird art project for me to even have considered that it might be good

That ad is the best thing about it. The game is literally just a walking simulator
and the world looks AWFUL

You dont even walk through good looking terrain, the world looks like it is full of volcanic expelled rocks
You have a really cool bike. But you cant actually USE it because there is so much shit in your way. You have to go super slow to avoid hitting the 6 billion rocks
You have to balance your carry load
because you can FALL OVER if you arent properly balanced
And your boxes go everywhere....
You spend most of your time using the sticks to balance yourself when you have a 10ft stack of crates on your back
From your description this sounds like a shitty freemium game where I'll have to buy microtransaction keys to unlock boxes
