that looks easy nough

@TuerSchlossEnteiser They had Namibia, those islands south of China, that were subsequently invaded by Japan during WW1.

Still, Germany made a stupid decision to mobilise in response to the situation in Serbia.

2019-12-03 14:31:47 UTC

They had no obligation toward Austria-Hungary, or at least, they did, but shouldn't've.

I have a question. From what I’ve read two brown eyed people both with the recessive blue eyed gene have a 25% chance of having a blue eyed baby. One blue eyed parent and one brown eyed parent (with recessive blue eyed gene) have a 50% chance of having a blue eyed baby.

But what chance does a baby born with brown eyes to two brown eyed parents (both with the recessive blue eyed gene) have of also inheriting the recessive blue eyed gene? Do recessive genes always carry through to the off spring? How many generations can it last before it is eliminated? Neither of my parents have blue eyes but I do.

it was a great diplomatic system based on <:BASED:639981478284886021> Bismark, they lacked the Herring

It's weird that Japan and Germany were technically at war during WW1, and were allies with Britain and supplied arms to them, and I think they even had some engagements North of Africa.

2019-12-03 14:35:27 UTC

The Royal navy used Type 33 Arisaka rifles.

2019-12-03 14:35:31 UTC

During WW1.

2019-12-03 14:36:07 UTC

Whole world was at war with the central powers.

2019-12-03 14:36:09 UTC

and Namibia was a colony for 30 years ... that's quite some colonialism compared to britain, france, ...

2019-12-03 14:36:48 UTC

Still, better than Austria-Hungry, but I can understand why it would have no baring on a war between those two.

2019-12-03 14:36:59 UTC

Does anyone know if recessive genes are ever eliminated or do they always get passed down even if they don’t show up in their off spring for many generations?

2019-12-03 14:37:44 UTC

Turns out those annoying scoped MG campers were actually a thing during the war.

so someone has to write a moldbug redux blog

He could use 1/10th the words to say the same thing.

2019-12-03 14:42:42 UTC

@iamwhoiam i think you have a 50% chance of just being a carrier

2019-12-03 14:43:15 UTC

that is, you get one brown eye gene and one blue eye gene

2019-12-03 14:43:27 UTC

25% chance of getting blue eyes, that is both blue eye genes

2019-12-03 14:43:37 UTC

and 25% of not getting any blue eye genes

2019-12-03 14:43:55 UTC

in this simplistic model

2019-12-03 14:44:04 UTC

So you can purify genes in 4 generations.

2019-12-03 14:44:05 UTC

i'm not sure if that's the whole picture with brown and blue eyes, though

2019-12-03 14:44:25 UTC

there are other genes involved in eye color
