That kurzgesagt video "Overpopulation and Africa" billy ray posted was funded by the bill and melinda gates foundation as part of a grant, according to the description
there is this weird battle of neoliberal talking points......
on one hand, they want to say their is overpopulaton - for environmental reasons
but then for *other* political reasons, they like to downplay any fears of overpopulation
bill gates himself made some short presentation about how the future hotbed of tech activity is in africa
I generally agree that there is overpopulation and that we’re fucked with a limited amount of natural resources. As well as serious climate change coming in.
Which these would be non issues if we didn’t have a industrialized China, India, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.
