Mission Name: Humble beginnings

We sought passage on a ship to the Archipelago of islands known as Elysium. Travelling on the sea for a number of days the sea grew rough and before we know it we were battling a fierce storm. The ship rolled and listed side to side as the waves crashed against the hull. Reeling from a large thump against something we glanced over the edge of the ship to see a singular large eye looking straight at us, its giant maw agape. Tentacles slammed against the ship as we helplessly were thrashed around. Thinking quickly we rushed to a life boat leaping from the side. We helplessly fought the storm before being taken by the water.

We awoke on a beach, the sun bearing down on us. Coughing up water we were dehydrated and hungry. Gathering our things we headed into the forest. Coming upon a small pool of water not far in we were oblivious and unwittingly walked into a grove where two enraged merfolk where resting. A battle ensued and we slaughtered them. Jumping into the salt water pool they were resting in one of our party members swam down into the depth of the pool. It was much deeper than expected! At the bottom we found a lot of bones one of which had a magical ring on it, a ring of water walking!

Finding a small path we followed it up hill finding a stream. A strange fruit bearing cactus like tree seeming out of place in a forest like this was before us. Dehydrated one of our party members cut it and a strange liquid bowled in it. Drinking the water although refreshing a small twig started to grow out of our party member, quickly snapping it off before it could grow larger we continued suspecting some fey trickery.

Continuing onto the path brought us to a large body of water as dusk was setting in. Breaking into a small boathouse for shelter we bedded down for the night. Overnight we were accosted by some scraggly looking smugglers calling themselves ‘the freemen’. Swiftly decapitating them one of our party members finds a chest they seemed to have brought with them. Cracking it open it set off a trap as a magically enhanced dagger shot out into the roof. Inside the chest was a set of armour that smells heavily of the sea, barnacles across the chest seeming to be also magical in nature.

Finishing our rest we left the boat and the bodies (though one was lightly chewed on) behind finding our way along the path to a small looking village. [Retcon: Amended ending] It’s boarded up windows seemed scratched as a body lay in the street. Rushing to the body we found a series of goblins in the streets. Jumping into the fray we saved the town from the goblin attack. The owner of the bar was a well-endowed dwarvern lady calling herself ‘Myra, the owner of the broken shovel tavern.’ She thanked us graciously giving us free lodging, drink and food.

She broke out some off her less legal booze as well. Partaking our memories get a little hazy, flashes of a bar fight and undead, a couple of gnome dancers and a very seductive Tiefling and disappearing up the stairs our party continued leading to some very questionable memories. And then.. black..

Waking up with a pounding head ache one of our party members looks around the room they’re staying in. It’s full of bunting like a celebration. Clothes and cups are strewn across the room; it’s a mess! Our party member to their shock discovered that they have a new ring made of ribbons, around their left ring finger.
