There is a minority group there, genetically they're just like any other Chinese but they have their own unique customs, I guess kinda like Amish people in the US.
Strong oral tradition, and for THOUSANDS of years they have retold a story of their people who originally descended from a family of eight who were on a boat when the entire world was flooded.
From "dirt" to Se-teh, Lusu, Gehlo, Lama, Nuah, who sacrificed a buffalo to God
Very interesting. Thanks for that @Deleted User
Perhaps my effort is better elsewhere. I just really enjoy the simple-mindedness, inner peace, and such of Eastern Philosophy
The aesthetics too, not to sound like a weeb
The compatibility of one with nature is very intriguing to me too
I'm assuming, hoping you are a Christian. As long as you are solid in your faith then I think it's beneficial to read about others. Because we will always be challenged.
Wasn't there some heritage sites in China with paintings of a Palm Sunday procession?
Christianity had been in China longer than anyone realises, I think.
Staunchly Catholic, I've strayed some but I am trying to get back.
Yeah that's a lot of the reason I say be cautious, inner peace shit is deceptively evil if you're not doing it biblically. I'd recommend looking into the monastic traditions, and the pitfalls they faced. A lot of demonic shit happened to monks who weren't adequately prepared for the solitude and tried to seek that peace anyways.
There is a Nestorian Church there from like 640 AD, has paintings on the walls inside from the Bible
I always viewed that the closer a civilization is to the Logos, the more advanced it is.
The Chinese, in their ancient philosophy and religion, have gotten closer to the Logos than anybody else sans the greeks.
Buddhism even has some merits, if you view it as a sort of incomplete revelation. In fact, i'd venture to say that the Buddhist diagnosis of the human condition is one of the most accurate outside of Christianity and Taoism.
the prognosis is terribly off though.
I'm actually thinking of picking up books like "https://www.amazon.com/Going-Home-Jesus-Buddha-Brothers/dp/1573228303/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=buddhism+and+christianity&qid=1557438223&s=books&sr=1-5" so I can better proselytize my buddhist friends and family
Long as you're careful not to let bad ideas mix, that's how the Catholics fucked the southern Americas
>implying im some kind of bagan syncretist
any of you fans of William Blake?
I like the paintings.
yes, absolutely gorgeous. But I was talking about his poetry. Should've been more specific.
Not the biggest poetry reader, I'm afraid. Been meaning to change that for a while.
Revelation 3:9
