but of course not everyone is morally æqual
likewise, not everyone is æqually intelligent or prone to certain kinds of sins
@Romanus Drevo two people brought up the same way will be more similar than otherwise, of course, but I think all parents know there are differences between their children which came from genes and not from different upbringing
Excuse my ignorance but I fail to see why people say rights come from God
Stuff like this is just being thrown around and never explained
What have the privileges my goverment has given to me anything to do with it
Well that was the first aproximation to the theory of fundamental or human rights, normally founded in the fact that we are created creatures, but not at the same level as animals or plants, since we are created at image of God. Therefore, we have some kind of rights that the State can't violate, since humans are created at image of God and those violations means a violation of the dignity God have gave us
Thank you
You're welcome fam
I’ve just spent my evening trying to explain to an Irishman how his country is heading for the gutter if his fellow countrymen don’t make serious and drastic changes, only for him to respond gloatingly about how terrible England currently is.
This is why blind nationalism is terrible.
A substantial part of loving your country is being prepared to admit that she’s becoming horrifically bad, whilst trying to change such.
Yet now when I wish to reconcile with him, he continues to respond with anti-English jokes and insults.
I don’t know why I try.
The more you get to know them, the more you tend to realise how quite politically unsound even conservative Irish people are.
The problem with Ireland is that it was a country built on clericalism enforced by democratically elected leaders.
Whilst clericalism is all well and good, you cannot trust a representative democracy to uphold it.
The founding principles of the Irish Republic caused nothing more than a Frankenstein state.
Clericalism, Catholic social policy, no distinct separation of Church and state, yet with regular elections, a secular head of state, unending social freedoms, and absolute equality.
It makes no sense. It’s a bastardised hybrid system.
It’s for the exact same reason that we ought not be too excited about the newfound socially conservative successes in the US and Italy.
I hope you’ll forgive my rant. I’ve just become incredibly irritated by some democracy-supporting Christians as of late.
I'm not sure any other political system can work in the modern age without falling into despotism.
Man has tried just about every single form of government imaginable and they all suck.
Democracy just sucks the least on balance
Some kind of monarchy has its benefits but then you get the inevitable bad ruler and you're in worse shape than democracy at its lowest points
Monarchy is the only form of governance for anybody who wishes to permanently enforce Christian social teaching.
no such thing as "permanently" in this fallen world
Monarchy eternal
Fascism and communism are sides of a coin
fascism but instead of a dictator youve got a monarch
Fascism is authoritarian like monarchy
Trying to say that there is an opposition in values of monarchy and fascism is infinitely retarded
Fascism is how a monarchy is born
is owning a Jesus bobblehead sinful?
Mozal's not wrong, tbf.
I wouldn't say it's a "sin", but I don't think it'd be appropriate.
alright
Hi and thanks !
tbh monarchy and fascism are complementary, and fascism can not be compared to communism except for their revolutionary side
Both are eschatological, wanting the perfect society here on Earth and so on
not really, one is materialist, the other is spiritualist, one is messianic, the other is frankly realist even if they have an ideal
