Byzantines just receive standing.
I understand the fuss about receiving in the hand, but I think it's perfectly possible to be reverent while standing.
If it wasn't, we wouldn't stand throughout the entire liturgy.
Prostration is not kneeling
Yes it is
A mass entirely stood or a mix of standing and kneeling would be the way forward.
Prostration includes bowing, kneeling, and flat on the ground
^
Some bowing is acceptable at times during the liturgy but kneeling generally isn't supposed to be happening
Although Greeks tend to kneel and do other Roman Catholic things, while claiming to have done them first
I wonder if there's any way you can research to find out who's right...?
The canons
We must read the canons
I feel like "we must read the canons" could be used a newspaper comic punchline.
But yes, it would appear reading is necessary, here.
Thoughts on this guys?

What's special about an "Old believer" church, exactly?
They're Russian Amish and most are schismativ
They've got great music, though.
I haven't heard any
>when you can't find something on Youtube, but you know you can find it in your dad's collection of sheet music.
That's something, anyway.
And this, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62Ek8FVIBnI
I'm at work but will check them later
How does one schismatise from the Ordodogs church?
By schisming
Schism is breaking of communion
Old Believers broke away because they rejected reforms by a certain Nikon
The Orthodox like to say that their liturgy hasn't changed for hundreds and hundreds of years, but the existence of the Old Believers disproves that.
I am not an expert but as I recall, Nikon was actually trying to bring things more in line with the Byzantine rite
Which is barely changed
The Old Believers have the worst reason for schism I've ever seen.
Honestly, yes.
I can only imagine if every rite in the Catholic Church schismed because of basic liturgical reforms.
A dozen SSPX's.
Like I said they're basically Amish
But afaik the anathema on them has been lifted and they're welcome to re enter communion and keep their old rite
Glad to hear that.
The difference isn't dogmatical, if I remember correctly.
