Yes, quite.

2019-06-21 17:21:09 UTC

Given that they are not themselves, a correct advice is " just don't be stupid"

2019-06-21 17:21:16 UTC

Indeed.

2019-06-21 17:21:50 UTC

And I don't think Iohannes was talking about this situation in particular

2019-06-21 17:22:01 UTC

But rather about concerning tattoos in general

2019-06-21 17:22:01 UTC

Orio asked a very specific question, and I gave an answer in that context. What pilgrims did in the 14th centurty is absolutely irrelevant

2019-06-21 17:22:03 UTC

I'm just speaking in general.

2019-06-21 17:22:12 UTC

The question is whether they are a sin or not

2019-06-21 17:22:17 UTC

They are not

2019-06-21 17:22:34 UTC

Not at all. If something is sinful now, it would have been equally as sinful six hundred years ago.

2019-06-21 17:22:46 UTC

🤦

2019-06-21 17:23:06 UTC

You're being puritanical.

2019-06-21 17:23:21 UTC

We all hate the typical tattooed retard as much as you do

2019-06-21 17:23:26 UTC

And a moral relativist.

2019-06-21 17:23:30 UTC

But we have to be stric

2019-06-21 17:23:31 UTC

t

2019-06-21 17:24:30 UTC

If you see no difference between tattooing your arms in order to cover up 'chicken skin' and getting a tattoo to commemorate your pilgrimage to Jerusalem (even though I view that as being equally stupid although not necessarily sinful), then I can't help you.

2019-06-21 17:24:39 UTC

Yes, I'm the moral relativist <:GWlulurdMmmYea:402868023393910794>

2019-06-21 17:24:40 UTC

You are moving goalposts

2019-06-21 17:24:47 UTC

He made a very specific question

2019-06-21 17:24:52 UTC

And for the record, the 14th century was more than 600 years ago

2019-06-21 17:24:53 UTC

Which is whether tattoos are or not sinful

2019-06-21 17:25:16 UTC

He also made a very specific follow up question

2019-06-21 17:25:23 UTC

Two, in fact

2019-06-21 17:25:37 UTC

He didn't

2019-06-21 17:25:40 UTC

He mentioned some facts

2019-06-21 17:25:50 UTC

But that is unrelated to the answer to the question

2019-06-21 17:25:59 UTC

Those are rather related to whether or not the tattoo is a good idea

2019-06-21 17:26:27 UTC

You called me out, as a Catholic, for defending tattoos. I gave you examples of where tattoos are alright, and you kicked off about me "moving the goalposts", even though I had done absolutely no such thing.

2019-06-21 17:26:54 UTC

No need for anyone to be upset, we all know tattoos for these frivolous reasons are a bad idea

2019-06-21 17:27:00 UTC

Pilgrimage tats are pretty cool tbh

2019-06-21 17:27:48 UTC

@SUPER MALE VITALITY™ I remember seeing some half sleeves from the holy land with a mix of religious symbols in them that looked pretty good, but for the life of me can't find the source I first found it in.

2019-06-21 17:28:09 UTC

There is also a long tradition of tattooing in Christian Bosnia and Herzegovina

2019-06-21 17:31:02 UTC

Bosnian Christians also have an average IQ of 89 <:GWlulurdMmmYea:402868023393910794>
Anyway, I apologise for getting all riled up, it's probably just my empty stomach doing the talking

2019-06-21 17:34:57 UTC

truly the greatest of causes for autism

2019-06-21 17:36:43 UTC

@orio679 consider custom clothing from artscow

2019-06-21 17:38:25 UTC

Pretty much the only way I could see myself getting a tat is traditional pilgrimage tattooing. Can't remember the name of the shop, but it's in the Holy Land been doing them for like hundreds of years, I've thought about getting a wrist Jerusalem Cross someday

2019-06-21 17:49:36 UTC

I would rather get some clothing or accessory that will trigger degenerates

2019-06-21 17:50:25 UTC

No theyre not sinful but dont get them tbh.

2019-06-21 17:50:48 UTC

Once again, that's not very nuanced.
