The philosophy behind it to me seems you can't fully trust your thoughts so its important to be vigilant and not be fully absorbed into them. You can convince yourself of many stuff and live your life out in ways that aren't immediately impactful but in the long run given you bad stuff.

You shouldn't blame yourself or judge yourself if you found out and acknowledged it was wrong. Look at it. Know it's wrong. Go forward and try to learn to overcome it if it wasn't expressly understanding how to overcome it

I gotcha, I was throwing my 2 cents of what I thought nepsis was. Not a war in your head though like your consciously weighing things but more like subconsciously when you are discerning things. The prayer you make helps you make better decisions or feelings or something.
