Dedicating time to a certain prayer

Say your mum got cancer

You pray the rosary and dedicate the rosary to her in hopes of healing

You can do the same with mass

You just call up God and be like "yo, can I get this done maybe if I pay extra attention please?"

do you do some special invocation or is it like entirely feels based

Do you talk to God, chanting constantly like he is some pagan deity?

Or do you just have a conversation with him sometimes in you prayers

not a verbal conversation

if that makes sense

See, I think we should talk to God like a father figure.

So that is how I would do it

For the Rosary I would tak to Mary like my own mother.

It's not always formal

God is merciful enough to take in what you say to him

Prots make that mistake and just end up mindlessly repeating the same "off the cuff" prayers

It's not a super formal thing with some kind of determined ritual

Prots just grovel a bunch and repeat their words like it will make it more likely

But yeah, with the rosary, at least for me, the intention is in the heart. Having said that I also make specific petitions along with it.
