You realize how needlessly locked down thinkpads are even compared to shit stuff like consumer acer once you try to modify them

acer is actualy quite good guy when it comes to modifications and right to repair stuff

mini PCIE slots will only run lenovo certified hardware

i have mocked lenovo buyers for years here :P

M.2 slots also only Lenovo certified + any SSD

I'm now on a W541. Keyboard is ok, it runs Linux and just werks :^)

coreboot wont get rid of ME

The only benefits that coreboot would give me, is support for Ivy Bridge, and 16GB RAM at most. Don't think it's worth it with a T420

I'm comfy with 8GB

you can have 16gb without coreboot

just plug in two 8GB, aint that hard
